OCT – High Quality Eye Exams – Blue Eye Milano

I’m at the new headquarters of the Blue Eye Clinic in Via Pantano 2, on the first floor, we have a diagnostic section that allows ophthalmologists to perform the most in-depth diagnoses, more appropriate for both cataract surgery, refractive surgery, and the posterior segment. We have machines that allow us to measure the eye in all its extensions, in all its parts, and the technology on which these machines are based is OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography), which has now taken over in ophthalmology.

The machines behind me are machines that base their data reception technology, precisely, on the OCT, through which it is possible to measure the surfaces, the thicknesses, the diameters, and the lengths of the eye and this is very important from a diagnostic point of view because all the anatomy of the eye is performed through the OCT and images that resemble the CT scan are reproduced without subjecting the patient to X-rays.

Therefore, the ophthalmologist has at his disposal, machines that are increasingly perfect for in-depth diagnostics of the anterior and posterior segments.

Any patient undergoing surgery must first undergo thorough diagnostics with all available machines. You can no longer leave out anything, both from a medical-legal point of view and from a diagnostic point of view for the patient, that is, you cannot think of performing a cataract surgery without having performed all the preoperative examinations. This serves to avoid any kind of surprise afterward, to guarantee the patient a maximum quality level, and to guarantee the ophthalmologist, from a medical-legal point of view, to work safely.
