Our comprehensive irrigation water quality analysis service offers a thorough examination of water samples intended for use in gardens, farms, greenhouses, and other agricultural settings. We understand the critical role water quality plays in crop health and productivity. Our analysis encompasses a wide range of essential parameters to ensure optimal conditions for plant growth and soil health.

Key Parameters Analyzed:

Nitrate (NO3-): Nitrate levels are assessed to prevent over-fertilization and potential water contamination, which can have detrimental effects on both plant growth and environmental health.

Phosphorus (P): Phosphorus content is crucial for plant energy transfer, root development, and overall growth. Monitoring phosphorus levels helps maintain nutrient balance in the soil and prevent nutrient deficiencies.

Potassium (K): Potassium is essential for various physiological processes in plants, including water regulation, enzyme activation, and disease resistance. Monitoring potassium levels ensures optimal plant health and productivity.

Calcium (Ca) and Magnesium (Mg): Calcium and magnesium are vital secondary nutrients necessary for plant cell structure, photosynthesis, and nutrient uptake. Balanced levels of these minerals promote healthy plant growth and mitigate soil acidity.

Sodium (Na) and Chloride (Cl): Excessive sodium and chloride can negatively impact soil structure and plant health, leading to reduced water infiltration and nutrient uptake. Monitoring these ions helps prevent soil salinity and toxicity issues.

Sulfate (SO4): Sulfate levels influence soil pH, nutrient availability, and microbial activity. Maintaining appropriate sulfate concentrations supports optimal soil fertility and plant nutrition.

Boron (B): Boron is essential for cell wall formation, pollen germination, and fruit development. However, excessive boron can be toxic to plants. Monitoring boron levels ensures its availability without causing harm to crops.

Iron (Fe): Iron is crucial for chlorophyll synthesis, enzyme function, and nitrogen fixation in plants. Monitoring iron levels helps prevent iron deficiency chlorosis and ensures proper plant growth and development.

Carbonate (CO3) and Bicarbonate (HCO3): Carbonate and bicarbonate levels affect soil pH and alkalinity, influencing nutrient availability and plant growth. Monitoring these ions helps maintain optimal soil conditions for crop production.

pH: Soil pH significantly impacts nutrient availability and microbial activity. Monitoring pH levels ensures that soil acidity or alkalinity is within the appropriate range for optimal plant growth.

Conductivity: Electrical conductivity is a measure of water's ability to conduct an electrical current, indicating its dissolved ion concentration. Monitoring conductivity helps assess water salinity and nutrient levels.

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS): TDS measurement provides an overall assessment of dissolved minerals and salts in water. Monitoring TDS levels helps prevent soil salinity buildup and ensures water suitability for irrigation.

Sodium Absorption Ratio (SAR): SAR indicates the suitability of water for irrigation by assessing the relative concentrations of sodium, calcium, and magnesium ions. Monitoring SAR helps prevent soil degradation and sodicity issues.

How to send sample?

1. In 16oz bottles, collect your drip and drain samples with little or no air room on top. Label clearly with current fertility and sample ID. Sample bottles can be provided upon request.

2. Purchase your test on our website and send sample to Alluvial Soil Lab, 201 E Center St Ste 112-3083, Anaheim, CA 92805 using any postal carrier of your choice. Make sure your lids are screwed on tight!
