I lived through homelessness, all sorts of traumas, and faced many troublesome adversities, but none of that seemed to matter. All that mattered was how I was going to get my next fix. I lived to use and used to live. I didn’t know any other way. I had to get to a point of desperation so great that there was no other option than to either die of my addiction or ask for help. I found Apex when I thought all hope was lost and I was shown that there is more to life than using. Apex kept me busy everyday and I was able to learn valuable skills to help me live life on life’s terms. I was taught how to have fun in sobriety; I regained my strength; I was finally hopeful. I worked their recovery program like my life depended on it, because it did. I built my resume and obtained employment upon graduating from their 90 day program. For the first time in my life, I was self-sufficient. Not only am I self-sufficient now, but I am able to use my experience to continue to help others who are in the throes of addiction. My life has been given purpose once again thanks to Apex.
