About Hand, Hoof and Heart

The Hand, Hoof and Heart journey began back in 2013 in Marietta, GA. Our founder, Erin, had always been involved with horses, but hadn't planned on building this program until she took a job as a caregiver for a young boy diagnosed with autism and fell in love working with the special needs community. The Hand, Hoof and Heart dream quickly developed into rea

This non profit therapeutic riding program is the just amazing. I was stranded hauling my horse due to a tire separation. It was late on a Saturday evening. US Rider connected me with Erin at HandHoof and Heart. What a relief when I arrived Dillion helped me navigate my trailer into the property. He checked all of my horses veterinary health certificates and helped me unload my horse. He set him up in a paddock by the barn. The next day they kept an eye on my horse while I had the truck fixed and returned to resume our trip. While I was there I met so many wonderful people who were very helpful. Ms Carm and Ms Lisa thank you for your help. I also observed the care of the animals and kids out riding the horses. Its a very happy environment here. I feel like they are truly in this for the mission. I was so relieved to have a safe place to stay with my horse for the night last minute emergency. My boy made an instant friend with mochee the mini horse

My son has been taking lessons from HHH for several months and just LOVES it His instructor Erin is always very patient and works with him at his own pace. I really like how she teaches all aspects of riding including brushing and putting riding gear on. Hes made huge strides just in a short time and really enjoys learning new techniques with each lesson. Most importantly they always take safety into consideration especially during this COVID time which I greatly appreciate They are also very flexible with scheduling and even let me take the lesson when my son wasnt feeling well I enjoyed it thoroughly

My daughters have been taking lessons here for about a year and have made a lot of progress in that time. One of my daughters homeschools due to social anxietygeneralized anxiety disorder and this has been a great outlet for her. It is one of the few places she feels very comfortable and always looks forward to going. Erin is patient but consistent with her and knows when to push her towards independence and when to nurture her if she is struggling. She is technically not a therapeutic rider but her lessons act as therapy for her in many ways as a result. She enjoys volunteering from time to time also. My younger daughter is making great strides in her lessons as well. Erins emphasis on building technical skills has helped her progress and get stronger. Erin is great at encouraging independence and setting clear expectations and standards and my girls take a lot of pride in meeting those standards. She seems to be very intuitive with the girls and knows how to meet them where they are at and work with them to get them to the next level. I appreciate that I know what to expect for each lesson and that Erin is organized and easy to communicate with. We are really glad to be here.

Our 17 year old autistic son loves to spend time with Erin Jenny and all the fabulous volunteers at Hand Hoof And Heart. He loves his year round riding lessons and will be attending summer camp again this year. We love the fact he is learning to be more independent how to care for his designated horse Maggie and working on different therapy tasks designed especially for his needs. He gets so excited to go to Proctor Creek farm and see all animals and friends. This is a great organization with very dedicated staff and volunteers. We highly recommend Hand Hoof and Heart
