What are the differences between types of adjusters?
Many homeowners are unaware of the difference between the adjusters working their claim. It is common for the insurance company to hire an independent adjuster to handle any inspections on their behalf.
Here are the differences between adjusters:
STAFF/DESK ADJUSTER – Employee of, and works directly for, the insurance company.
INDEPENDENT ADJUSTER – Works on behalf of various insurance companies on a sub-contractor basis. They are not permitted to adjust claims on behalf of a policyholder.
PUBLIC ADJUSTER – Works solely on behalf of the policyholder.
