Tiffanni Walton - Piano Tuition

I really enjoyed taking piano lessons with Tiffanni. While I had some background in reading and playing music, from taking lessons when I was a kid, I had only learnt to play classical music, and was unable to play from chords or make a basic rhythm or melody without the full notation in front of me. I was particularly drawn to jazz and blues, but had no idea where to start. Having seen Tiffanni’s own prowess as an outstanding jazz pianist, I was slightly daunted at the prospect of taking lessons with her - but, having decided I wanted to return to the piano as an adult learner, I couldn’t have found a better person to teach me and learn from. I was a bit apprehensive at first, but Tiffanni’s teaching style helped me relax and just enjoy playing again. I really appreciated the fact that she tailors her teaching approach to the individual, and worked with my personality, interests, and abilities to find both songs and methods that best suited me. Any challenge I faced in getting something to ‘click’ was approached with professionalism, patience, kindness - and humour.I highly recommend Tiffanni to anyone looking to play - whether for pleasure, as a pure beginner, young or old, or right through to professional standard.

Tiffanni taught myself as an adult and my two children how to appreciate the piano, relevant theory and of course, how to play. As a teacher, she was exceptionally positive and had infectious energy, which is important for a busy parent as much as for the children. We were at different levels and she was able to cater for us all individually. She used a combination of traditional and creative techniques and activities to keep us all engaged. I would highly recommend her as a piano teacher.

Tiffanni is a wonderful piano teacher who encouraged all three of my kids to love playing and composing music. I honestly couldn't believe the amazing things they produced together. And we loved going to see Tiffanni perform too. Highly recommended!

Tiffani has a very special way with children. She has boundless enthusiasm and is immensely positive and encouraging in her approach. She has a great knack for meeting young children at their level and adapts her teaching to varying needs. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND Tiffani as she is a joy and a gem of a teacher!

Tiffanni has been a fun and supportive buddy as I've dived back into the piano world after a long hiatus. Despite being conducted remotely over Zoom, I felt like she was right there in the room with me during our lessons, guiding me and encouraging me. She was also able to explain complex (to my mind!) theories very clearly and effectively, which helped open up my mind to a whole new world of understanding.As is appropriate when dealing with an adult pupil, she expected me to actively participate in my own learning by not only practising between lessons, but identifying my goals, so she could be as effective as possible in her role as teacher.It's definitely the case that when you choose to take lessons as an adult, you expect more - probably because you are paying for it yourself! I can honestly say the lessons were worth every dollar, and she definitely went above and beyond to ensure I was getting what I wanted out of our lessons. Also, I would argue the opportunity to study, understand and explore the world of music is priceless and I'd absolutely recommend Tiff as a wonderful guide to take along on that journey.

Tiffanni taught piano to my two boys. She was able to engage and inspire them to learn and love music. If only she was still in Melbourne they would have continued with her... highly recommended music teacher, the best our boys have had.
