Quality Career Pathways

Imagine a job that rewards you for caring about others… that is exciting and challenging… a job where you make a difference. Whether you’re just starting your career or ready for a change, now is the time to consider becoming a Certified Nurse Aide, referred to in most states as a (CNA).

A Certified Nurse Aide, or CNA, helps patients or clients with healthcare needs under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Working closely with patients in a health care facility, hospital, nursing home, long-term care facility, or in their own home, you’ll complete such tasks as checking vital signs, making up patient beds, and assisting patients with personal tasks. In some cases, CNAs can also assist practical nurses with basic medical procedures.

CAREER OUTLOOK FOR CNAs

After successful completion of our CNA program, graduates qualify for careers in numerous healthcare-related fields and areas, such as in nursing homes, long-term care facilities, or providing in-home personal care. Below are some of the opportunities available to graduates of certified nursing assistant programs, some of which are entry-level options with enormous growth potential. And make sure to check out all of our Premier Partners.

Nurse Aide

Nurse aides work closely with nursing staff and doctors to provide exemplary patient care. These assistants often have at least a CNA certification, which can be earned online in a few weeks. They may also take additional nursing aide training as part of their continuing education. In addition to this, they may have completed nursing programs at local community colleges.

Certified Nurse Aide

Also known as orderlies or attendants, certified nurse aides work under LPNs and registered nurses. They operate in a variety of settings, including hospitals, psychiatric care facilities, long-term care facilities, and nursing homes. They also typically provide patient care, and may routinely check vital signs and perform some housekeeping duties as well.

Home Health Aide

Aside from CNA training, Home Health Aides need to have the patience and willingness to deal with unpredictable and challenging situations. Home health aides work in the homes of patients, delivering personal care to people with chronic illness and elderly patients with their daily self-care tasks.

State-Tested Nurse Aide

State-tested nurse aides’ responsibilities are similar to certified nurse aides, but they have passed a state exam and received their state certification, which can result in higher earning potential and increased responsibility.

Successful completion of your CNA training online provides the skills needed to help you excel in your career.

This does not guarantee employment or specific earning potentials, it simply represents the career outlook to our students.
