ST. LOUIS — A wrong-way driver crashed into multiple parked cars this morning and fled the scene. The incident occurred on Neosho Street near Morganford in the Bevo neighborhood of South Saint Louis.

According to police, the driver of an SUV traveled the wrong way on Neosho, striking two cars. They then reversed out of the street, hitting at least five more vehicles. Authorities are currently searching for the driver.

We spoke with the owner of a heavily damaged silver car, believed to be the first vehicle hit.

“I saw a reddish SUV that came down the street the wrong way. It was up against our car, which was now three houses down from where we had parked it. As I came down the stairs, and out the front door, the gentleman or lady was trying to get away. They were backing up the street at a high rate of speed and ricocheted off of several other cars going up the block,” said Gerard Vondera.

Police are leaving notes on the cars involved to inform the owners of the situation.
