    AwakeLipo: Quick Results without the Risk

    How it works: We give you medication before the surgery to make sure you are relaxed and comfortable. Then with a solution called “tumescent solution” Dr. Hakimi gently will numb the areas. When you are completely numb and comfortable, with very thin and gentle cannulas the fat will be extracted. During your consultation based on the areas you want to remove the fat from, your medical history and examination, Dr. Hakimi will advise if you are a good candidate for AwakeLipo Technique.

    What procedures can you do with AwakeLipo?

    There are many procedures that can be done with the AwakeLipo technique including, liposuction of any areas, radiofrequency skin tightening to any areas, as well as fat transfer to breasts, buttocks, hands, and face.

    Can you do Laser or Smart Lipo awake?

    You can do Laser Lipo and Smart Lipo while awake. If you need skin tightening Dr. Hakimi will recommend radiofrequency skin tightening to be done at the same time as your liposuction. This is a newer, safer, and more effective version of Laser Lipo a.k.a. Smart Lipo. The heat produced by laser or radiofrequency causes skin tightening.

    Is fat transfer to buttocks safer under local anesthesia?

    Absolutely. Fat transfer to buttocks is safe under local anesthesia. The danger of BBL comes from injecting the fat into the muscle then the fat migrating into vessels and getting into the cardiovascular system. With the AwakeLipo method we can only numb under the skin. If, by accident, the canula even touches the muscle, the patient will let the surgeon know that he or she can feel something so the proper adjustment can be made and safely continue.

    What is the recovery really like?

    Regardless of what procedure you do awake, for about 2 days you will have some drainage from the incision sites. The pain is minimal although some patients choose to stay home from work for a couple of days while the drainage occurs. After your AwakeLipo procedure Dr. Hakimi advises you not to go to the gym for approximately 2 weeks or until the incisions are completely closed.

    Can you transfer fat with the Total Definer Technique?

    Absolutely. You can do fat transfer with the Total Definer Technique. Not only you can transfer fat to the buttocks (BBL), breasts, hands, and face, but also with this technique we are able to place the fat inside your muscles such as your arms and men’s chests to give a more muscular look if you desire to do so.

    Does fat transfer to the breasts last and how many cup sizes will be increased?

    Fat transfer breast augmentation will last a lifetime. Fat transfer to the breasts can increase the size by no more than 1 cup size. On average we can transfer 300 cc of fat to your breasts. You lose about 30 to 40% of that as your body will absorb some of it which usually leaves you with an increase of 1 cup size. If you are, for example, a 32B and want to be a small C or a full B this is a good option for you

    What is the recovery like with Total Definer?

    Dr. Hakimi works closely with you to make sure you start your lymphatic massage right after the surgery. You will be able to go to work in 1 week, and back to the gym in 2 weeks. Typically, you will start with light aerobic exercises and slowly advance by listening to your body.

    Is Total Definer the same as High Definition liposuction?

    Not exactly. The goal in Total Definer is to give you a slimmer, more athletic, and proportionate body by making your muscle tone and curves more noticeable. High-Definition liposuction focuses mostly on bringing out your 6-pack. This can frequently give a harsh, nonfeminine look or, even in men, if it is not done in conjunction with other body parts can lead to an unnatural look.

    I went in for a consultation in October 2022 wanting a inner thigh lift, breast lift, and liposuction on my outer thighs. I talked to the doctor he explained everything in great detail to the point I started second guessing my decision on the inner thigh lift but then I decided to just do it. When I tell you after just 6weeks in I’m so happy with my results and my decision. He did such an awesome job and made me feel comfortable through the entire process.     I am a 70 year old woman. I had a lower face lift with Dr. Michael Hakimi about 3 months ago. Dr. Hakim's promise was "perfection expected" and be lived up to my expectation. Besides , Dr. Hakimi is a humble and kind doctor. I was totally surprised to leave the long surgery without any blood and with a pretty scarf. An excellent Doctor. 👌💃🙏

    Where do I start? I had surgery within 4 days of my first consultation. I never knew this was even an option for me! As hard as this is for me to say, I had this issue and keep my hair very long so no one could see it. I never mentioned it to my loved ones, so when I got to my first appointment, I was shaking head to toe because I knew I had to show them. Dr. Hakimi made me so comfortable and quickly assured me that the surgery to remove a "buffalo hump" was one of the quickest and that he did them regularly. I was so relieved and with the help of his wonderful office staff, I scheduled my surgery, applied/obtained a payment plan to do it and was out the door to take my covid test and prep for Tuesday! It all happened so fast! They kept in contact with me and the day of surgery, I was met with the sweetest medical assistant who got me prepped, made me laugh constantly and was there during the procedure with me. Everything was perfect! I am now 6 days post op and still can't believe this has happened for me! This thing that I hated more than anything else on my body, is gone. So easy, so quickly and I feel like one blessed girl. The ladies in the office have contacted me and are the absolute sweetest! I can only say positive things about this experience. Dr. Hakimi, his staff and the procedure itself are a 10 out of 10. If you're on the fence on doing this, you can trust me when I say, go. Do it. You will not be sorry.
