Church of the Ascension Homeschool Families
The homeschool families of our parish meet on a regular basis as well as meeting with the larger homeschool community.
The Homeschool Ministry helps homeschool families connect with each other, their children, and their faith in a meaningful way. Central Ohio and the Johnstown area have a growing and vibrant homeschool community with field trips, co-ops, outdoor adventures, moms’ meet ups, dances, meal trains, book clubs for moms and students, Rosary nights and so much more!
You will find and make many friendships, have others to pray for and with you throughout your homeschool journey and discover more about our Catholic faith alongside your children.

HOMESCHOOL RESOURCES
Catholic SchoolHouse Co-opChurch of the Ascension is hosting a Catholic SchoolHouse Co-op that focuses on PreK through 3rd grade students. Along with the CSH curriculum the group focuses on Catholic liturgical living. Beginning March 21 interested families will be meeting to discuss planning and exploring what the co op is. These interest meetings will be on Thursdays from 9am to 12pm with the opportunity to attend the 8am mass. This will be a great time to allow the children to get to know each other as well. Opus Domini is a Catholic homeschool support community in Central Ohio.
Opus Domini is YOUR homeschooling community! The group helps members connect with each other to plan classes, activities, and social gatherings with other Catholic homeschoolers. This is also the perfect place to ask questions, request prayers, and seek encouragement for your homeschooling journey.
Opus Domini is coordinated by a group of homeschooling moms like you. Father Smith of Church of the Ascension in Johnstown, Ohio is the Opus Domini Chaplain.
To join the group is free, simply click here and follow the steps to join the group. Once you're a member, you will receive email updates about what is happening in the group around Central Ohio. Within the main Opus Domini group you will find “subgroups” you may wish to join. These are smaller more focused groups for things like co- ops or a high school group. The group is growing and is active with so many beautiful families.
