Rainbow Garnet

Rainbow Garnet or "Iridescent" Garnet is a very unique variety of Andradite, as their chemical composition indicates. This type of Garnet is only found in the Tenkawa Village in Japan.

The rare Tenkawa mine was discovered in 2004 and shut down by August of 2005. Garnet recovery from this area is now strictly prohibited and punishable by law.

Garnet can be helpful in increasing courage and overall positive thinking. It is also known as a stone of commitment. Garnet is the January birthstone.
