Fairfax’s Nameless Celebrity Cocktail Bar Has Quietly Closed After Five Years

After more than five years of hiding in plain sight, Fairfax’s No Name bar has closed. The signless evening spot sat right on the main drag, across the street from Supreme, but it often eschewed any kind of attention in favor of an in-the-know mystique with greater West Hollywood locals and occasional celebrities. Now it’s gone completely, announcing its closure on Saturday night via Instagram.

Eater reached out to multiple owners regarding the sudden closure of the five-and-a-half year old bar. Bryan Ling, who also operates In Sheep’s Clothing in the Arts District, gave the following statement on No Name:

I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity that I was given to build a space that catered to creatives and those who would appreciate the attention we took to keeping the vibe paramount. No Name was a cultural institution in LA and the memories of the incredible happenings that went down inside those walls will live forever.

It remains to be seen what is next for the address, considering the building is perfectly located along one of the city’s busiest foot traffic blocks. Ling says the property will be “evolving into a new concept” in the future, and may continue to host private events in the interim.

Meanwhile, the bar closures continue to pile up around Los Angeles. Just yesterday Eater reported that Koreatown’s Beer Belly will be closing by the end of the month, and back in May, stalwart drinking den Good Luck Bar closed after 25 years in Los Feliz.
