Warning Signs

The best way to prevent issues is by having a professional dryer vent cleaning. If you see any of the warning signs below, please contact LINTBUSTERS. We are who you need to call!

  • A longer drying time is usually a good sign that the air flow is restricted in the dyer vent system.

  • If your dyer is getting too hot due to trapped heat and moisture the appliance may turn off mid-cycle. This shut off switch is the manufacture’s final effort to prevent a fire and should be taken seriously. Have your appliance serviced immediately.

  • With an obstructed Dryer Vent, moisture and heat buildup resulting in a hot appliance and or clothing. This not only increases the chance for a fire but also causes excess wear on your dryer and clothes.

  • Fungi thrive in warm, moist areas and if not properly vented mold and mildew may begin to grow in your dryer, dryer vent, in the laundry room and on your clothing itself.

  • While keeping the lint trap clean is important to prevent buildups and clogs, an annual dryer vent cleaning is still needed to keep a safe and efficient dryer vent system. When an obstruction forms lint begins to collect in spaces throughout the system and laundry area. Lint behind the dryer and in the door seal. Lint that is force into and behind the dryer is a significant fire hazard and needs to be removed. You may see lint on your clothing. When this occurs, it is likely that lint is being trapped in the dryer and has not place to go. If no lint is on the lint trap or on the wrong side of the screen is a sign that the obstruction is causing a backup in your machine. Back pressure combined with a build up of heat and lint can easily result in a fire.

  • Dryer vent systems in homes with pets tend to clog more quickly and carry more debris that can increase the chances for a fire. You may need to inspect and clean more than the one time per year that is recommended
