Today 2/28/24, I took my cat Abby in as an emergency it was right before they were going to lunch, I was in a panic like all of us when your pet is sick there like your kids you move. Abby was smacking her lips, hyperventilating, she appeared to be in pain couldn't sit still, throwing up I was freaked out.
Brenda was the Technician and she could tell I was in a Panic poor girl she was trying to help me relax long story short she was GREAT, so professional and caring Abby and I made a new friend in Brenda.
Then Dr. Alvandi came and got to work. He has treated Abby before and I knew she was in good hands. Again long story short Dr. Alvandi is a very kind man and loves animal, he's calm even when your a wreck, he has this soft nature and the animals feel it. I highly recommend AAA Hospital.
The staff were all great. Thank you so much for taking care of Abby!

If I could give this place a zero start review I would.
My sister took her male dog in on Monday to get a free neutering as it was apart of her adoption when getting the puppy. When we got the puppy back we realized that his balls were severely bruised. We didn't think much since they gave us the puppy back in this condition. From Tuesday to Wednesday, we realized that the bruising got way worse overtime. So we took the dog back in. All they said to us was that there was blood clotting and it look like there was irritation around the stitches and that they were going to remove the stitches, clean up the area, and he should be fine from there.
Later that day, my sister went to go pick him up. When she arrived, all they told her was the same things from before and that they put drains in to let the fluid leave the body. They said nothing about any issues the dog could be having or anything we need to be aware of. They also made her feel extremely terrible when she expressed concerns about what was going on, like when she explained how his back end looked when she first got the puppy on Monday and accusing her of taking off his cone too early (which stayed on since the day we got him). When she got the puppy, he was wrapped around his lower legs, with his tail down. All they said was to keep this on until Saturday. When she got home, the puppy obviously had to use the restroom, but with the way the vet had wrapped his legs, along with his tail, the feces was trapped in the wrap. We grew really concerned of what to do since they told us not to take it off. At the same time we were also wondering how the vets did not look at the wrapping and think once, "Oh, the dog is not going to be to use the restroom with this wrapped around his whole butt. Let's try another way." While all of this was going on and when we were trying to think of how to keep the wrap on but remove the fece, the wrap slipped off and the puppy started to drip blood because of the drain.
We ended up bringing him to an emergency animal hospital that night (Central Orange County Emergency Animal Hospital). They took him in straight away and were extremely helpful from the start. When he spoke to the doctor after they examined the dog, he immediately told us what could be going on with the puppy. Which was something that was lacked at AAA. We are now taking him back to the emergency hospital for the third time in the last 12 hours and are now considering for the health of this puppy.
Please DO NOT take your animals to AAA Animal Hospital.
(To add to some other little things that upset us was when my sister got the dog they didn't give her the leash and collar back that we brought him in and when we got it back this morning (Thursday), we realized the leash looked cut in half and tied back together to "fix it")Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 3 - Claire R.San Clemente, CA02Apr 12, 2024
I never leave negative reviews, however I had the worst vet experience here. We brought our dog in for a foot / leg injury, and after months of coming regularly into the office for check ups, care of the injury and following the exact protocol we were given, the vet recommended that we take drastic measures given that "it wasn't healing".
We got a second consult for a different vet, only to find out that the vet at AAA had completely misdiagnosed our dog. This mistake, lack of care and attention cost us thousands of dollars and months of completely minimizing our dog's life.
Do not bring your pets here!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Brett S.Costa Mesa, CA0172Apr 3, 2024

I haven't written a review on Yelp for some time but felt the need to review AAA given the drastic changes in care I've experienced. I have been going to AAA animal hospital for 13 years (since 2010) and in the past 2 years this place has gone down significantly.
Dr Botros was and is always amazing, but Dr Costantine is absolutely awful and uncaring.
The front of staff are so rude as of late and the waiting room is now dirty and sparse. They are completely disorganized and aloof and so many of them are poorly trained they depend on this one girl and ask her for everything making it so inefficient it's like only one person is there instead of 5.
Walk Ins take hours before you're seen and if you try to call in expect to be on hold for at least 45 minutes before getting through to anyone. Every 10 minutes they just pick up the phone, hang it back up and put you back into the hold queue.
This used to be a gem for cost effective veterinary care that I trusted, but after the past 2 visits of ineffective care where I had to go to another vet to resolve my dogs GI issues, I'm no longer coming here.Helpful 7Thanks 4Love this 0Oh no 2 - Vik M.Midway City, CA01Apr 3, 2024Updated review
The length of time wasn't the problem it's you and your staff and the behavior you disregarded and mixing up my dog with Kahlua being told too bad if you don't like it go elsewhere and that's why you only have a 3 star. Nothing to brag about.

Hi Vikki, I apologize that your experience at AAA Animal Hospital was not the best, as we are a volume animal hospital, we try our best to help everyone we can in a timely manner. I understand when you come in as a walk-in, without an appointment, the wait times can be frustrating. We have signs in the lobby stating that wait times may exceed an hour, perhaps you missed them. Although the wait time was not what you expected, this does not give you the right to threaten to physically assault and yell at our staff members the way that you did. Due to your actions we recommended that you go elsewhere. Our apologies if you think this was not the right way to handle things. Our staff and patients safety is one of our main priorities. We wish nothing but the best to you and your fur babies.
Mar 27, 2024Previous reviewWorst service ever! I walked in at 10:02 for shots only. Four different people showed to the room. The first person was efficient and checked us in and was very kind. One tried to take my dog and called him Kahlula his name is Simon. Someone else came to the room saying your not checked in. Another showed to tell me they are behind. Finally I saw the Veterinarian, we discussed future 1000 worth of dental work which I was going schedule. Get the fourth lady who was so rude her name was Alex. When I tried to tell her about my experience she told me I could find somewhere else to go. Wow I've been coming there for 20 years. I asked for the manager. She decided to be just as rude, shocking it took and hour and a half to get Simon his shots. I left super angry and called Aniya supposedly a manger a few choice words that has been a long time since I've lost my cool. She also told me I could go elsewhere. All I wanted was some accountability or a small apology at the least. I will no longer be taking my 5 pets there again!

Please do not come here. They say they treat you like family but this is the worst vet I have ever been too. All they care about is money and they do not care about your animal. I would highly suggest if your animal is hurt to please make sure to second guess coming here. There are plenty of other vets that do treat you like family in Huntington Beach and will treat your animal the way they deserve to be treated. Not like a number sign.
Horrible vet - horrible staff - don't care about you or your animals. The office supervisor - and I use supervisor very loosely, does not care about the animals or helping people with animals in need. My cat was dying and all she cared about was money immediately and could not make a payment plan or they would not work with me if I didn't have a credit card of money on my card credit they didn't care. They made me surrender my cat and now I have no clue what happened with her :(
These people are absolutely terrible. MAKE SURE TO ITNORE THE GOOD REVIEWS AS THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS OUTWEIGH THE GOOD ONES.

Hello Amy, I can see where your frustration comes from during the visit with Oreo. Oreo was brought in as an emergency by Matthew. Matthew was given an estimate of all treatment recommended by the doctor. He approved and signed off on all treatment. When we asked for payment, he stated he will pay everything at pickup. We normally take in payment up front for emergencies. Due to the circumstance and state that Oreo was in, the supervisor on staff allowed for him to pay at discharge. When he came in to get her, you were with him and stated you guys could not afford services that were already rendered. The supervisor gave you time to discuss what you can do to pay for Oreo's treatment and also recommended the option of Care Credit. If you or Matthew were unable to afford treatment the estimate should not have been signed and approved. We then offered to keep Oreo here boarding with an additional cost per day and you declined. We eventually had no other option to recommend that you surrender Oreo to our care. Unfortunately, when you surrender your pet, we are not allowed to give you updates on how she is doing or what treatment the doctor recommended. I am so sorry that your experience with us was not the best. We will take your review into consideration in the future if this were to happen again.

They are fair in prices but you would have to know what's needed and what's not. They are rude with costumer service as they don't smile and having a flat affect. I came in with crutches and not one person asked if I needed help opening the door when I left. Just shows what kind of people they are. It was on a non- busy day so I would expect better manners.

In response to your answers to my review. My dog had lab work just a couple of months ago at your clinic. I took her to another vet. My dog had a severe skin infection for which she was prescribed antibiotics and prednisone. They did a full body exam. Your vet barely even looked at her. You were sending my dog away without any help. Your vet definitely doesn't have the pets best interest at heart. It is all about the money.
Helpful 3Thanks 2Love this 1Oh no 1Oct 26, 2023Previous reviewWost ever, they don't care about your pet. I brought my dog in for allergies. The vet said she was prescribing a medication. I went to check out, and they refused to give me her prescription and wouldn't let me talk to the vet. She then requested payment. All that they care about is money. They will try to upsell you with a lot of unnecessary treatments. Go to Family Veterinary in Costa Mesa. They actually care about your pet.
Oct 13, 2020Previous reviewThis place has the worst customer service. They have treated my dog for skin allergies several times as well as a knee surgery. I have spent thousands at this place..They alway recommend the most expensive treatment first appquil then a almost identical drug cytopoint. When I called to tell them neither worked and requested to pickup prednisone and antibiotic they refused. Stating I had to bring her in again. She was just seen a month ago.. I asked if I could email photos or do a FaceTime appointment and no of course not. They could not care less that it's covid and a huge hardship for me to bring my pitbull back AGAIN after spending 500 dollars on her skin in the past 6 months. Go someplace else they do not care about you or your pet.

Called 4 times today. 30 minutes hold each time, with no one letting me know how much longer. Have up at the 30 minute mark. Funny but when I go in there's plenty of people at the counter. A little confused as to why they don't pick up and say can we call you back when we are free. Just glad there are other places to choose from.
