Above The Grade Heating & AC

I had Above The Grade check both my furnace and ac units and Martin was punctual and thorough in checking to make sure there were no issues since this is a new house for us. I'll be using Martin again and recommend him for your HVAC needs.

i called martin for a repair estimate he was one of the contractors I called as I was getting multiple bids as a informed customer should do. I explained that I had 2 others out there and what there diagnosis was. each contractor told me different things as to what was wrong with it. which was why I needed a third bid. Martin said he that I had too many people come to look at my unit and that he didn't want to be jerked around. So he canceled my appointment I had with him. Guess he didn't want my business.

Martin is fantastic! Excellent customer service and prompt service. We kept getting an error message on the thermostat so no heat was coming out. It was freezing and I couldn't get anyone to come out as it was right before Christmas. Martin called me right back and said he'd fit us in. He did fit us in and fixed the problem. Above the grade is amazing! We needed to get a/c installed since we didn't have anything last year when we bought the house. Our place is old and a central a/c unit would not work so our only option was a mini split.

Martin is a very nice guy who responded quickly to my request for a quote, he came to check it out and gave us a very reasonable price for the mini split and after we paid the deposit he was out by the next week to install.

I will call him for all my a/c and heating needs in the future.

I called Martin at "Above the Grade" at 10:15am on 7/30/2020 and left a message regarding my non working AC Unit. Within 10 minutes he called me back, said he was on a job and when he was through with that job he could fit me in before his next job and he'd be here by 10:45. True to his word, Martin showed up promptly at 10:40 and I didn't even have to ask him to put on a mask.
After checking out my AC unit he gave me a couple of choices and an estimate for each as well as when each could be accomplished. I chose to get a new AC Unit so I could start out with a brand new 10 year warranty. He said he could get the unit right away and would install 7/31/2020.
We set up an appointment of 9:00am.
At 9:00am he arrived, began evacuating the system and clearing the lines, he then neatly and conservatively removed the shrubbery obstructing removal of my old unit.
By then the new unit arrived on a truck and Martin installed it and checked everything out by 12:30pm he was completely done, everything cleaned up and we had paid him.
Martin is efficient, prompt, honest, professional and a pleasure to work with.

Had a problem with my AC on the hottest day of the year. These folks had it fixed in a few hours.

I'm very happy with above the grade. Martin responded very quickly to our request. He always wore a mask. He's very pleasant and courteous. His pricing is very reasonable. We had to have our roof replaced at the same time and he was very good about working with the roofer to coordinate that. When we called on him for the job I didn't realize that the heater/a/c base curb needed to be placed after the roof was removed and before the new roof was placed so we needed him right away to begin the job. Martin went out of his way to help us with that. There wasn't time to get a crane to remove the old furnace so he went up there and dismantled it and took it away by himself!! That was way over and above in my opinion. I'm very happy with our new heat/air unit. I highly recommend above the grade for your heating/air needs!!

Martin has done a great job twice for me and has responded quickly both times. Diagnosed game-stopping problems that turned out to be quite easy fixes after he diagnosed them. Never overcharged for unnecessary work. Easy to work with and very polite, I'd highly recommend him.

I got lucky, in that he had an unanticipated bit of available time and he came over right away and took care of my problem. I did not ask for an estimate but I was very pleased at the final price. He very clearly knew what he was talking about, and I expect to call him the next time I have a heater problem.

This is the second time I've needed Martin to help my aging heater gimp along. Martin is pleasant, efficient, and informative. He's a genuinely good guy. I'm so relieved to have an HVAC person I trust. Thank you!
