Not only does he complete my taxes quickly and accurately, he gives great advice on money saving tips that I can prepare for next year's taxes! He has been my accountant for years and I would recommend him from small to medium sized businesses to personal taxes. He is also very affordable as compared to other accountants.

I made the decision to stray from my long-term accountant in California, since I had a full-year-residency in Florida for 2016. I made some phone calls...
When I called Greg Menia a week before tax day, he indicated that he could get my taxes done by the deadline. We agreed on a price for him to prepare my relatively simple taxes, and I made an appointment to see him. I brought in my figures and he advised me I should have brought in my previous years' taxes. I was a little miffed that only then did he send me home to fill out his basic worksheets. I am a busy woman, so I did not appreciate this!
I wished he had faxed the worksheets to me before my appointment so I could've been more prepared. Oh well, so I filled out the basic information and faxed that back the same day, along with a copy of my 2015 taxes. I really felt that asking for my taxes from the previous year only made it so simple for him to prepare my taxes, because he basically just needed to copy what was done my previous year. He wanted to press the Easy button.
Another hiccup was when I called him a couple of days later to ask WHEN he'd be finished with my taxes. He was pretty rude, said that I was not the only person he's doing taxes for, and even said that I could pick them up and have someone else do them if I didn't like it! I felt as though it was uncalled for to be rude to me about merely asking!
Other than the mixup about filling out his forms AFTER my appointment and his rudeness on the phone the other time, he got my taxes done the day before the deadline.
Would I go back next year? Unlikely, because how you treat people when you first meet them speaks volumes. I felt treated badly, when there was no reason for Greg to treat me that way at all. :/

We appreciate Kathleen's feedback and regret she was not satisfied with the service we provided. It's a great disappointment to us when we are unable to meet the expectations of a client.
We generally do not accept new clients during the two weeks prior to a deadline because there is usually a large backlog of tax returns to be prepared. We made an exception for Kathleen since she said her return was very simple and she did not want to file an extension. We always try to explain that returns accepted so close to a deadline are prepared in the order received and most likely would not be completed until very shortly before the due date. We regret and apologize to Kathleen if we did not make this clear during our initial conversation.
We are extremely thorough in the work we do. It is very important that we receive all information that is relevant to prepare an accurate tax return, including copies of prior returns. Often there are items on prior returns that affect later years. We agree we should have requested this in our initial conversation if we failed to do so.
