I was recently referred here due to being inexpensive compared to other dental offices in the area. While that ended up being the case, I found the customer service, communication, and wait times to be below par. We weren't given the option for nitrous oxide and they only used a local anesthetic to take my daughter's wisdom teeth out so now she hates the dentist. I figured I would have at least been warned that she would be awake for the whole thing. We also arrived for her post-op appointment 5 minutes prior to her appointment time and proceeded to wait 50 minutes until we were called back and it took the dentist 60 seconds to be done with us. While I understand things can happen some communication would have been nice to let us know they were running behind. Would not recommend.

Poor customer service, extremely long wait times. Then the lady takes you X-ray and my clothes ended up with pieces of the lead apron. I showed her my scrubs and she said "yes the apron is peeling" my thought replace it. Then i am waiting for additional X-ray and she comes in with another apron and I asked if it was clean and she says "shake shake shake. The staff know zero about infection control. At that point I asked for another assistant and she said NOPE just me. I asked to reschedule and got up and left.

The business model for Ace Dental seems to be to lure customers with FREE X-rays and then miraculously see problems that don't exist.

My wife and I were told that between us we had 8 cavities that needed to be treated that day at a cost of $2,000.

A second opinion at a non-chain local dentist told us in fact there were zero cavities. Buyer beware.

What surprised me the most is that there are no dental hygienists at this clinic. I am used to the hygienist cleaning teeth first and having the dentist coming in after to take a quick look and make sure things were ok. At my visit, the dental assistant did the xrays, and then the dentist took a look at my teeth. Then they asked me if I wanted my teeth cleaning (which is what I came in for) and another dental assistant did a very shy job of the toothpaste deal and floss - like I floss my teeth much more vigorously. The dentist came in later to do the plaque pick thing but it involved a lot of water everywhere - my face, my shirt, down my neck, etc. Overall came away very confused. I guess I got my teeth cleaning, at least the bare minimum. And everyone seemed to be super nice, just seemed like they were not very sure of what they were doing. Out of pocket charge is like $99 for teeth cleaning and $50 for x-rays and exam but just be aware that it might be a different experience than what a typical clinic has.

      Updated review

Update on my last review.. Still will not return to Ace. So they reached out & I talked with an employee who helped me get a refund. Or should I say part of a refund. Due to a form signed on partials fitting you can only get 1/2 of the cost back. Doesn't matter that they fell apart at pick up & you never wore them!!! That's for lab work & supplies.. LOL SO YOU PAY FOR THEIR POOR FITTING OR POOR MANUFACTURING OF A PARTIAL . If you don't mind paying for their poor service & not receiving your product please be fitted here. We all have $500.00 to give away.. RIGHT!! Poor patient service if you make someone pay for your poor products!! I personally have managed an Health Care/Retail office for over 25 years..this would NOT of happened in my office!! I stood behind our products.. full refund , patient satisfaction, patient might of gotten eyewear as well of refund.. WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY IF YOU WISH..

I came to ACE dental for the first time because I was new to the Temple area. I am in my 20s, have never had a cavity in my life, and after X-rays and an exam, I was told I had 7 cavities. I felt like this was hard to believe so I decided to get a second opinion before spending the ~700 to get these fixed. I went to a trusted family friend who reassured me I in fact have ZERO cavities. I am not a dentist so I am not aware of how much clinical judgement goes in to calling something a cavity but I thought this was a pretty big discrepancy. Will definitely not be going back.
