Cutting fresh meat the way a customer ask is important. We want fresh to be cut a certain way, if not we could buy frozen, why spend our money to be unsatisfied. I stop shopping there and found another place. Meat price a little higher, but if I'm getting my meat cut the way I ask. It's worth it

Visiting the African Supermarket was a good lesson for me in that whole book/cover/judging thing.
From the outside, it's a strip mall, right off Livingston Avenue, in the middle of nowhere. I've been to a lot of the little African markets on the East Side, and none of them are all that spectacular. I love markets--they're my favorite place to explore--but none of these were jewels... until African Supermarket.
When I walked inside, I was pleasantly surprised! It was bright and colorful, big wide aisles, upbeat music playing, and friendly guys to welcome me. The store was extremely clean, and there was a wide selection of quality items, including:
-a great offering of unique sodas, many imported, most with real sugar.
-grass-fed French butter that's twice as high in other stores.
-high-quality ghee, honey, and sugars.
-loads of dry goods, like lentils and grains.
-a Halal meat counter.
-unique spices, teas, and coffees.
-bright and shiny produce, including *ripe* plantains! (which are coincidentally, not bright or shiny)
The folks working at African Supermarket were all super friendly and helpful. They made me feel incredibly comfortable and welcomed in their store.
After my first trip, I left with a British ginger brew, 2 black (yay!) plantains, and a block of Buerre Président--all for about $6.Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Mike W.Columbus, OH76067Feb 12, 2013First to Review
Their Shea Butter is in clumps instead of packed smooth and a full container.
