Q:
Any pastas made fresh in house?
A:
Just called to check out ... the pasta is not made in house. We've dined there many times and it has always been al dente and delicious!

My husband and I had an early dinner here yesterday while in town. A nurse at East Cooper recommended it to us when I mentioned that I'd like some good eggplant. We were there at about 11:30. Jordan was our server, and she was wonderful! She was friendly, attentive, but not smothering.
My husband had the Amalie seafood combo, which included mussels, little neck clams, shrimp and the best, most tender calamari I've ever had. It was served over linguine with a spicy sauce. I ordered the eggplant rolatini with spaghetti, which was also delicious. We both had the Caesar salad, and the dressing was delicious. Everything was perfect.
The atmosphere is casual and cosy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael B.North Charleston, SC7293140Mar 23, 2024
My wife ordered the cheese ravioli, and I opted for the classic chicken Alfredo.
Cheese Ravioli! The cheese-filled pillows of pasta were a delightful surprise. The sauce was rich, and the ravioli itself was cooked to perfection. A comforting choice for any Italian food lover.
Chicken Alfredo! Creamy, dreamy, and oh-so-satisfying! The chicken was tender, and the Alfredo sauce was velvety smooth.
Bread! Kudos to the restaurant for going above and beyond! Not only did they serve us two orders of bread, but they did so without charge. The fact that it's house-made adds an extra layer of appreciation. Warm, crusty, and perfect for dipping into sauces.
Service! The staff's willingness to accommodate our request for extra bread speaks volumes.
Overall Impression! Amalfi's Italian Restaurant knows how to create a cozy atmosphere with spectacular food. From the aroma of freshly baked bread to the hearty Italian dishes, it's a place that leaves a lasting impression.
Ok, I almost forgot about the Spinach soup! It was also done well, everything was perfectly seasoned and hot. We were over 30mins delayed and the food was still Hot. I did call when we were 15 mins out and apologized, maybe they re heated.. :)
We did eat one of the breads on the way home :)

This is the Amalfi special pizza. Unfortunately, it's actually a precooked pepperoni pizza that was then piled high with toppings, then re-cooked briefly. The sad part is I waited 40 minutes for this pizza sitting in the restaurant. The crust was obviously soggy after sitting. And the toppings were tasteless. I had been told their pizza was really really good. So I'm going to assume maybe this was a bad day. However, I don't think I'll order pizza here again.
The sad part really, is that I was obviously not happy with the wait, or the pizza, but was quickly given my Bill allowed to pay asked to tip and then asked if I wanted to receipt. There was no question about why I didn't like the pizza, why I was leaving the entire thing on the table . Or what they could do to make it better.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amy F.Ehrhardt, SC08715Dec 8, 2023
I wasn't sure what to expect, since I was ordering on-line and having it delivered to my hotel room, but everything was excellent.
After a long day of traveling, I really didn't feel like going out and the girl at the front desk of my hotel (TRU Hilton) told me that Amalfi's was her local favorite.
I ordered an app that came with two arancini, two meatballs and a side of calamari. I also ordered a Margherita pizza.
The portions on the app were mind blowing! I could've eaten that by itself and I thing more. Anyway, I was nervous that it would all be cold by the time it arrived to the hotel, but it was still steaming hot!
All of it was so delicious, and I was full, but I HAD to have a bite of the pizza before putting it in the fridge for the next day. God, it was SO GOOD!
I plan on going to the actual restaurant when I return. The young lady that recommended it said the ambiance is great. I'm looking forward to it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Meleah A.Hendersonville, NC192May 18, 2024
I ordered through DoorDash and the food arrived hot. The crab bisque was the most delicious I've ever tasted! And I have it everywhere available. The pizza was great too. I had the 12" Neapolitan with bacon and mushroom.

This place is just okay.... we ordered pasta and saw a lot of people ordering pizzas and picking up pizza so maybe we made a mistake of not trying one! The calamari was pretty flavorless, but the spaghetti was fine along with the chicken parm.
Bonus - they did offer gluten free pasta so that was delish! Maybe we will try again based on other reviews, but not our favoriteHelpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kenneth C.SC, SC03Mar 30, 2024

Really solid local lunch spot for quick and tasty Italian classics. Gluten-free pasta was delicious and pizza was fresh and yummy. Caprese salad that came with lunch was perfect and balanced. Cute, old world style ambience with booths.

Caprese salad was on point as was gluten-free Alfredo with chicken and pasta. Homemade bread with oil dip was devoured. Pizza slices made fresh. Great lunch specials. A little more generous pour on their house wines would be appreciated.

I work in the same shopping center and we often do pizza and salad days and Almalfis is one on the rotation. I am sort of indifferent about their pizza. It's not bad but it's not top 5 in the area either. For the most part the service is good but nothing spectacular. It is a very cute set up and does feel like they brought a little piece of Italy to this area with the set up. I normally get food to go but often it is packed and busy so I may just be getting the wrong thing. If I'm eating here then it's the thick cheese pizza for me!
