I did not end up using Rick to install my custom screen, but I would if my door layout could easily fit the security screen. I wanted to take the time to give a great review because Rick was honest, took extra time out of his day to research my screen, look at pictures of my door, and also tried to help me think of different ways our security screen door could be safely installed.
We had another contractor come out to let us know what modifications would be needed and Rick even went the extra mile of commenting on the proposal and answered ALL questions I had regarding different types of security doors. He was honest, got the manual for my particular screen door and let me know he was not comfortable modifying my front door layout. He was just very nice and ever so helpful.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Allison G.Anaheim, CA111May 6, 2016First to Review
Excellent service and quality of work !
Installer (owner) arrived on time very personable and took an extra minute to play with the dogs. I had 4 upstairs Windows that needed complete screens and a new sliding screen door installed everything was measured and fabricated out front and all fit beautifully ! Thank you ! All for a fantastic price !Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christina L.Orange County, CA742511Jan 1, 2019
I forget his name but he did great work. Was on time and responded to my calls. Which apparently is a difficult thing for most. Fair price. Knew I was broke so did not try to pressure me into buying more than I could afford

Not happy with Mr. Rick the owner.
I called him OVER a week ago , we spoke about my screens . I explained I needed tabs ONLY on ONE screen . The tabs are what you use to hold onto , to pull/place the screen in the track. Rick quoted me 5 dollars . I had no issue with that.
I then told him I had a screen apx. 2 feet by 4 feet I said I needed a new frame ( mine was bent/cracked ) and screen mesh . He quoted me 25 to 35 if I came to him , or 45 to 55 if he had to come to the house.
Next I had a screen that ONLY had a corner that had come out and just needed to be resealed. Rick quoted me 20.00 saying he would just replace the entire mesh. Again 10 more if he had to come out ..
FIRST OFF WHY 10 MORE EACH !! IF YOURCHEAR TO DO ONE AND WTHECK YOUR ALL READY HERE ...
When I got to his business (HIS HOUSE)
He met me outside, and just started ratchet jawing about his prices and the one screen that I told him about that was 2 feet by 4 feet all of a sudden he's telling me Oh this is a really big screen this is going to cost you more money. Then he tells me that it's even going to cost me extra because he's got to add tabs to it at $2 a piece again those are the things that you use to hold onto to put the screen in the track LOL hello you're building me a new frame why would it not just come with them. Then he looks at the other screen where the mash has just come loose from the corner and he tells me I need $45 to do the screen the only thing that he stayed true to was the $5 for the tabs on the screen , I went ahead and left two screens with him, the 2 foot by 4 foot screen is a screen that literally goes on the front of my house and I really needed to get it fixed and I felt like I was in a bind. I negotiated that screen and the tabs on the other for a total of $45, and I am telling you it was like pulling teeth. The other screen I decided not to have done there was no way under God's green earth that I was going to pay $45 when it just could bec resealed it. I did it myself (YouTube)
He called to say my screens were ready, by the way he only takes cash if there's any IRS people out there just thought you'd like to know LOL this is obviously a side gig for him I don't know what he did in his other lifetime but in this lifetime he is an incredibly grumpy older man. I saw my screens the tabs were on one of them and the other screen was done but the mash was very loose it literally had give of about an inch and a half meaning that it was loose you can wiggle it with your fingers moving it back and forth I told him I didn't think it should be like this and he said well I guess I could try to make it tighter but then the frame can get bent and I'm like well that's funny I wasn't that before when it was new and it was tight?? He took my money and disappeared and came back out with the screen and he's like is this good enough and I just wanted to get out of there quite frankly I didn't really notice the difference.
I do not recommend this man. it would seem that he is a sole proprietor he is not very friendly his prices change, he as far as I'm concerned does a bait and switch, and the quality is just not there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I just saw this review and felt it deserved a comment.
I try to accommodate small jobs like yours at my home as a convenience for my customers.
I'm sorry you weren't satisfied with my work but I feel there was some misunderstanding on what you were charged for. I felt the fabric on the damaged screen that you took back wasn't worth salvaging. You had limited funds and decided to not have it worked. I'm glad you are satisfied with your own repair, I would not have felt comfortable with just trying to putt spine back in.
The screen I made for you was larger than 2' X 4', it was closer to 30" x 60" so it was at the higher end of the estimate I gave on the phone. I do not charge for the lifts, what I do charge extra for are the steel corner springs I added to your new screen, but as you pointed out you negotiated total job to $45, probably from around $53 so you weren't charged for the springs.
I do try my best to make my customers satisfied with my work and I feel my prices are very reasonable. I allow customers to bring their work to my house so I can charge less than going to their house,
"COMING OUT" to customers home entails additional expenses and work for me. Gas, insurance, etc, plus, at the customer's house, I remove and replace the screens worked. so I need to charge more.
Again, I'm sorry you were not satisfied with the work I did for you. - Sue B.Cypress, CA08Oct 1, 2020
Rick, the owner promptly contacted me after submitting my online request, came to my house to take measurements, and then delivered & installed my beautiful new screen door. I'm very happy.

If you are reading this review you are probably trying to find a good, safe, quality company to repair your window screens. Let me share my experience with Rick.
I was visiting my mom in her house of about 60 years old. The porch screen had a tear in it and she was concerned about the Nile Virus. The screen door had lost one of its sliders and was a pain to open and close.
Rick came out quickly and replaced the screen and fixed everything quickly. I was very impressed with his attention of quality and detail. It was a very positive experience and I highly recommend his services. I think you will not be disappointed with his work!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ferdie P.Anaheim, CA011Mar 6, 2020

Very pleased. I was desperate to have my sliding screen door repaired because I have my final walk through of the house I was renting, tomorrow. He told me to bring him my screen door and he'd help me out. He even cut his date short to accommodate me! Very nice man and great price!

Met Rick and he went above and beyond to help me out. Instead of suggesting a brand new door, he fixed the current we had and saved us a good amount of money. Do yourself a favor and hire him, you won't regret it.
