Ava Spa & Nails

This is my favorite nail salon by far. I've been to a million fancy nail places here and in New York and this is the best. I'm always so happy with my acrylics. Everyone who works here is so nice and they take their time. It's also pretty cheap considering how clean the salon is and how good they are. Highly recommend. Also the acrylics don't have that annoying bubble that most do.

The best nail salon in ATX hands down!! All nail techs take their time with your cuticles and shaping. They also offer beautiful nail art. The music is also nice to listen to while you relax and receive service.

The massage chair is wonderful and the spacing between customers.

I hate that they do not give a zero star or negative star option.
Everything about this place is absolutely fucking unacceptable.
I made an appt and wasn't even sat until 15 minutes later. Then had to get the attn of one of the techs informing her I made an appt and she shot back: "yeah ehvbody make/have appt"
Like:: OK YEAH SO FUCKING HONOR MINE!
What in the shit.
I have now been waiting THIRTY-FIVE MINUTES and still nothing.
But she already started so I'm stuck.

It's been incredibly difficult to find n upscale, organic nail salon in austin (please give recommendations!)

I was looking for an upscale salon near downtown and online, the pictures of this place looked gorgeous. The pictures are definitely deceiving.

It's not that it's bad, it's just not great. They follow basic hygiene, opening up new tools for each client. A lot of colors to choose from, basic beverages on offer.

The spa chairs are old and do not look nice like the online pictures.

Overall, it's fine. I had a $45 hot stone pedicure and it came out nice. The service was fast but it was still nice for the price point.

It was OK - nothing special. Certainly not as upscale or nice as the pictures online.

I'm desperate to find a nice spot in austin, sadly this isn't it.

I came in the Sunday before my wedding. I struggled to find a dip color from their booklet. The tech insisted on using the color she "uses often" but it wasn't in the booklet and there weren't any photos to show as examples. She was getting very upset with me because I kept showing a picture of the color I was looking for. I gave up and picked a color from another booklet they brought out. I was very uncomfortable. And then very disappointed with how my nails turned out. On top of that, I had to pay to get them re done. Such a waste of time. Not the added stress I needed when my wedding is days away. Luckily I went to Domain nails to get them fixed.

Mimi is so wonderful! Takes her time with expert shaping and style requests so everything ends up just right. Best SNS mani I've had in Austin for a while!

Thank you to Michael (I hope that is his name) for the very gentle experience. I stopped by for a pedicure about 45 minutes before close and he even stayed late to finish for me. Thank you so much for being so kind and gentle!

Not sure if this is normal but I had my acrylics removed. I had to refile my nails at home and I don't think all the acrylic was removed

I found this nail salon a couple of years ago and used to love going there. However, my last couple of visits have been disappointing. I always make an appointment, but they seated walk-ins ahead of me, even though they had no appointment and I did. I used to love how careful the pedicure trimming, shaping and painting were done. But the technicians now rush through the service, leaving the shaping unevenly cut. And the polish is applied unevenly, so you can see that the polish has not gone all the way to the edges. Also, instead of thin layers of polish, they glop it on in thick layers, so that the pedicure chips and does not last. I had to laugh as I was checking out at the same time as one of the walk-ins they took ahead of me - she was tipping $5 for a $100 service (5% tip). I always tip 20%, even for the not-so-great customer service and pedicure. But I will be looking for a new nail place after my recent experiences.

I love this place! Because they're a popular lunch destination, I recommend booking an appointment if you plan to treat yourself during the week.

I love the massage chairs (they have my favorite kind that do a great job).

They also offer you a beverage when you arrive which I always think is a nice touch.
