My go to for any Latin bread. It's a small bakery with big tastes! They do have a min to pay with card. They also sell the hot chocolate bars so you can have legit Mexican bread with real Mexican hot chocolate that you would make at home. When you arrive you pick a tray and thongs. You pick out your own breads. I always try to go early morning when breads are the freshest.

Amazing, authentic Mexican Bakery. Go in, grab a tray, and try anything that looks good to you. Pan Dulce isn't supposed to be "American sweet" if you know what I mean, so don't expect it to be. Little to no English will be spoken, and that's okay. If you need an explanation about items, use your google, or just have an open mind and give it a try!
Tres Leche Cake in the fridge is always a good choice. Cold, creamy, and awesome.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 14, 2012First to Review
El Rico Pan? Hmmm The Rich Bread? OK?
I'm thinking this place was a garage back in the day if memory serves. In any case, it sure looks like a garage from the outside. It has all the ambiance of a gargage on the outside and it's about the same on the inside.
But, the adventurous side of me took over and I stopped in to check this place out.
I'll be frank with you, they have some really great Mexican baked goods. At least I think they're Mexican. I don't really know for sure. The lady working there didn't speak English and my Spanish is nothing to brag about. It was hard to figure out what some things were. I did get from her that a lot of what they had were different types of breads. There were also some donuts and a few cookies. She seemed very reserved. Not rude or anything, but just she did seem a bit uncomfortable.
I bought a churro, a puff pastry, a concha ( kinda like a roll ) and a bun looking thing that looked and tasted like sweet corn bread with walnuts on top.
In a nutshell, they were all good and now they're all gone.
Yum
I'll be back.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Kate H.Columbus, OH971795Apr 15, 2016
Why didn't I know about this place? I feel like you all were keeping a major secret, Yelpers.
This place is amazing and only about 2 miles from home (which is horrible for my diet). You take a tray and tongs, choose whatever you want from the wall of baked goods they have. We wanted to sample a lot (frankly there were items I just couldn't identify), so we loaded the tray- probably 5 or 6 different things. When they rang us up....$3.80. What the what?
I didn't love everything we tried, but there was plenty to love. Go there now!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Debi H.Grove City, OH698913Apr 17, 2015
It smells heavenly!! The staff member we met was very helpful. You could tell she loved the baked goods and her job. We ended up buying way to much which made our three teenage boys very happy.
I am not typically a sweets person, but the baked goods here are less sweet then typical American bakeries. The pineapple pastry was my favorite. I highly recommend making your way past the outside to the deliciousness inside!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Casey S.Columbus, OH053Nov 22, 2016

Best Pan Dulce in Columbus. They cook the bread fresh in the back! Don't expect to come in here and have a person detail out to you the types of sweet bread rather you should explore and try what is appealing! These are best complemented with coffee, Mexican hot chocolate or champurrado.
