Would highly recommend. Went for posture issue that's been improved since. Physical therapist understood issue, developed specific plan and had intelligent caring therapists to direct exercises. The plan is also available online with the goal to carry exercises out at home. Front desk super friendly as well. Just overall thank you all staff here for creating a welcoming and comfortable environment!

I was very impressed by the treatment I received at Barkman and Smith in Bedford. The staff and management are all dedicated professionals, and they are a real pleasure to work with. My neurologist referred me for treatment for chronic headaches that had me taking ten or more 500mg Tylenol caps almost every day to keep the pain under control. Ron Barkman developed a treatment program that addressed the cause, and I haven't had a significant headache in over three weeks. I highly recommend these folks for any form of physical therapy you may need.

The staff is always a joy. They take the time to explain or listen to any concerns you may have. I always feel like i'm in great hands. If you're looking for a solid therapy sesh that leaves you feeling better I'd recommend this place.

We have been 100% pleased with Barkman and Smith! The entire staff is so friendly and our PT, Michael, is so warm, professional, and knowledgeable about our situation. He is so good with our six year old daughter and has made all the difference in her recovery from clubfoot surgery. He comes up with awesome exercises that our daughter loves, and engages her in such fun ways. The ladies in the office, the techs, and the owners are all so supportive and encouraging of our little girl and her progress. We love this place and these people, and we highly recommend them for any treatment at any age!

Completely incompetent billing system. Starting sending notices that I owed $40 a year after my son had 2 therapy sessions. I personally paid each of the 2 times. A year after the fact I get another bill stating I owed another $40. The phone number on the bill is not the correct number to call for questions and the person that answered said she had been getting alot of incorrect calls regarding Barkman Smith. When I called the office they apologized that they had put the wrong number on the invoices and gave me another number to call. They can no longer answer billing questions at the local office and insisted I call the number I was just given. To no surprise when I called the second number you only get a recording to leave a message and no one ever called back.
Highly recommenced you find another physical therapy office and avoid Barkman Smith!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Angela B.Fort Worth, TX14Apr 12, 2015
Amazing, friendly, professional and competent staff. Answered all my questions, and actually listened to my concerns which I really appreciate. Seemed to understand that I was in pain, and were always considerate while still gently pushing me towards my goals. Cannot recommend them enough!

It's hard to write this review because I get emotional thinking about all that my physical therapist and the technicians at Barkman and Smith have done for me over the last six month health ordeal I have experienced. I want everyone out there to know, however, that you *should* go here, and you can trust them to help you get better. The biggest difference between Barkman and Smith and other PT places is that at Barkman and Smith you actually work with a physical therapist for a portion of each visit, and, while you are working with technicians, the physical therapists are actively supervising. Trust me, this makes a huge difference in your quality of care. This did not happen at the other PT establishment I went to! My physical therapist and all the technicians I worked with are beyond polite and professional--they are really gentle and really seem to care.
Good luck.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Andrea M.Hurst, TX08Aug 12, 2016
It's hard to rate a place when you love the PT and the Technicians so much but their office staff make the experience so frustrating. This is my second time to deal with Barkman & Smith PT, and Ron Barkman is the reason I go back! His bedside manner, along with his care is incredible--truly some of the best I've ever come across. It is just SO frustrating dealing with the office staff. They are not overly friendly or helpful. They got me and another patient's appointment crossed at one point, and basically told me I was confused, until I showed them my printout showing my appointments! Then, they were willing to take accountability, but it wasn't an "I'm sorry...it was oh, well someone must've clicked on a different patient when scheduling." Scheduling is difficult if you work because they close at noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This time around, I called on Monday (8/8) to try to schedule my first evaluation appointment the next week, trying to get on the schedule before they were booked. They did not have the order yet (not their fault), which they received the next afternoon (Tuesday). I called Wednesday afternoon because I hadn't had any followup, and they were still trying to verify insurance, which means they hadn't done anything with it because my insurance is already in the system and it doesn't take long to verify insurance. Finally received a call at 11:52am on Thursday (remember they close as noon), which I missed because I was on another call at work. I called them back 10 minutes later only to get the recording they were closed. Called them back Fridday morning (4 days after initiating this process), and they are booked next week. This might seem like a small thing for most people, but when you're in a knee immobilizer brace and can't remove it until you start pt--it's a big deal to have to wait a week. I have schedule an appointment, but am on the fence as to whether I want to deal with the office staff here again. If only Ron Barkman's office staff matched his level of care, this would be the best place in the world. And, while most of your time is spent in the back with those who care, I don't know that I'm up for the frustrations that come along with dealing with the attitude of the staff.
