Bath Planet

For my shower renovation, I went through Home Depot for peace of mind on quality and credibility. I was referred to Bath Planet NorCal of Burlingame. I was very pleased with the final product.
I want to acknowledge that my shower renovation project went smoothly because of their staff - specifically Darwin, the Project Manager. I had a lot of questions/concerns and Darwin was very responsive. He answered my inquiries promptly and got me the information I needed right away. He even fixed something himself when I pointed something minor after the shower installation was completed. Thank you, Darwin, awesome job!
I also want to thank Von (who did the intake assessment) and the 3 gentleman crew (who worked on the shower replacement).
All of them kept me involved all throughout the project. Thank you Bath Planet NorCal and your partnership with Home Depot!

They really messed up for me. I read the reviews and thought they would be better. Here's some of the things that happened:

- I had to get the water shutoff for my building since I'm in an apartment. They will tell you in the initial meeting they will take care of all conversations with the HOA but that's not true. I had to go back and forth between them and my HOA several times with lots of confusion as to what needed to be done.

- I eventually learned we needed an external plumber to shutoff the water. This is partly to blame on the HOA, but Bath Planet did not help with their service. I had to pay a plumber to turn on the water and wait for 1) The contractors at Bath Planet were late to initially even get out and start the job. 2) They messed up the plumbing as they were doing it and I had to call the external plumber to come back and re-shut off the water. All together I paid for an extra 3 hours of an external plumber to wait outside that was because of BathPlanet's mistakes. They did not compensate me for any of this.

- The job took 3 days longer to finish then they said it would because they didn't pass inspections. They blamed it on the inspector.

- The workers were messy and caused lots of disturbance in my apartment complex that had my neighbor's complaining. They left dust everywhere in my apartment. I told them to move their cutting area but they never did and kept working in a location that they were not supposed to.

- The sales person that worked with me was not very responsive and brushed a lot of problems off. It felt like he was trying to avoid me when the project went wrong.

- They messed up the back wall and had to reorder it and come back to do it again.

- The final product has lots of issues. For one, my shower now gets lukewarm to cold and fluctuates in temperature more than it did before. They said it was my building and it was nothing they could do (even though it was not like that before). I wanted to do this because hot showers are a coping tool for me as someone with depression. But now my showers are no longer staying hot enough and I have to take 5 minute showers.

If I had to do this again, I would have not gone through Home Depot. It is all sales gimmicks. They make themselves look really good on paper (they asked me to give a 5 star review which I image they pressure on to everyone which is why their score is so high). Behind the sales gloss, it's shoddy, messy work with them taking little to no responsibility for their mistakes.

TLDR: All sales, no substance. You can find someone better.

I scheduled an appointment and I'm later told the visit would take 90 minutes. What on Earth needs to be discussed for over an hour that cannot be addressed online? This is an initial visit. Look at the bathroom and @#!$ leave.

All that is necessary it to take some pics, measure the room tell me the next steps and GTFO. Shouldn't be more than 20 minutes. Call me the next day with a ball park figure and then we can discuss the details.

When I protested the sales person had the audacity to say "Well, he has take measurements." Yeah, take your laser and point it at one wall, then the other and then the ceiling. An imbecile could do that in 30 seconds. What more is there to measure?
Then they talk about the designer. If I want a designer I'll commission an architect.
I guess there are some who have more money than sense.

This is based on them coming out to give me an estimate and not any actual work done at this stage. I am getting more estimates. Generally, I do not write reviews just based on giving estimates, but this girl worked so hard and was so good that I had to mention Elysia ( what a pretty name!) to let the business know what a great employee she is in representing this company.

First, she was on time( my biggest pet peeve is when they are late!) and very respectful and friendly. She measured and offered suggestions of what they could do and not do. She showed the difference between Home Depot materials and Re-born and Re-Bath which I have also looked at and that made a big difference so I know this one has much better quality products. Warranty is great as well-lifetime.

Now for the business itself for a full bath remodel, they couldn't do my vanity bc it was odd- sized and cut. So it would have been a whole remodel but I would have to find the vanity and countertop and they could install( she offered to. Help look which. Is nice). Also the floor there was only one kind which I didn't find anything I liked. The shower was nice though. So as for the selection and that they couldn't do it all I would give 4 stars.

For the actual employee that came out I give her 5 stars. I do want someone that does everything though, so I will keep looking what is out there. I have had a wide range of estimates from 7k all the way up to 40k and they were 18k ( 15k with a discount if I accepted today, but MY rule is never to make a deal the first day esp if pressured with a pitch like car salesmen, bc I want my head clear and not impulsive!)! Otherwise, if I did not have a cooling off period, I would be buying everything in sight on the first-go, so I am prudent and cautious.

But thank you, Elycia, you did a great job and. You are. Such a sweet girl and asset to your company! Oh and they are Diamond- certified, in Burlingame, so you know they must be good.

Oh, I forgot to add- one of the best things I like about this company is that all their products are made in America! You don't have part outsourced and no shipping container problems from overseas and being a proud American, I am more so than ever, supporting USA manufacturers that make things here to be loyal to our economy and build US manufacturing back up!

We found Bath Planet Norcal through Home Depot and ordered a bathtub/shower and wall surround for our rental unit. Alysia came to see our unit and was very helpful in providing us with information, options, and different designs. She showed a new tile color that we immediately responded to even though we were told it would take about 4-6 weeks to receive. We were willing to wait and, unfortunately, we learned 2-3 mos later that it was still not available. As a result, we had to choose basic white to speed up the process since our project was already delayed and needed to change our contractors' schedules at the last minute.
Darwin, the project manager, was most helpful in speeding up the order and was most attentive to our needs throughout this project and was a great communicator. He responded to our emails, text, and questions efficiently and took care of any issue or concern we addressed. He was always reassuring and followed through on his promises. When permits were ordered and inspectors were scheduled anytime during a 3-4 hour period, he was always on time, willing to wait as long as necessary, and gave us their positive feedback when all done. We highly recommend Darwin to anyone hiring this company for a project.
I would also like to complement Luis on a job well done! He replaced the framing, plumbing, fixtures, bathtub/shower, and wall surround in a professional, efficient, and timely manner. He always cleaned up after himself and it was a pleasure working with him and his employer.
The bathroom looks 100% nicer and we are very pleased with the outcome.

I've been burned by a few contractors over the years, so I approached my search for a bathroom remodeling company skeptically, but working with Bath Planet Norcal was a great experience. I wasn't looking for anything super fancy or expensive, but they treated me like a VIP the entire time, from the original meeting and estimate to the final evaluation and payment. They were never pushy, or tried to upsell me on any items. They even recommended things I could probably get cheeper to save money (I supplied a vanity, flooring and molding purchased from Home Depot).

Even after the work was complete and payment sent, they responded to additional requests we had. It felt like a concierge service - Mark Beeson was my main contact and was amazing to work with. The company really goes out of the way to make sure you're happy and taken care of - when I first signed, the company owner personally got on the phone to let me know how excited he was that I decided to work with them. It's a small detail but one that is a nice touch.

I would happily recommend Bath Planet Norcal to anyone looking for a bathroom remodel job.

NorCal remodeled our 3 bathrooms this May and they did such an amazing job! they were super thorough, thoughtful and shockingly fast! The crew showed up on time every day, took great care in covering up all the floors and cleaning up after themselves at the end of each day. They also provided great recommendations to make sure the bathrooms turned out just perfect! Taylor was such a joy to work with when I got started, and Darwin (my project manager) went above and beyond to make sure all my requests were taken care of. He even helped me pick out my master bath vanity that everyone is obsessed with now! Daniel - our on-site construction manager - was meticulous when it came to detail and ensuring I was happy with the process and the final results.

My wife and I were planning a bath remodel and we worked with Bath Planet NorCal to plan out our two new bathrooms. We worked with their designer Elysia and she was fantastic. She listened to our concerns and questions and she planned out two wonderful bathrooms for our townhome. We had to put our plans on hold due to the changing economic conditions we had to put our plans on hold and Bath Planet NorCal was very understanding and worked with us to delay our remodel.

Great team and company if you are looking to remodel I strongly suggest you give them an opportunity to earn your business.

Couldn't be happier with the shower door install. I think my bathroom was cleaner when they were done! Very professional crew... the definitely know what they are doing.
