In 1996, Dr. Elkins became one of the few Fellowship trained refractive surgeons in the USA. He has performed about 10,000 plus LASIK and Cataract Surgery procedures. Of these, over 3,000 have been performed with Intralase. Dr. Elkins graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude from UCLA, and he graduated with honors (AOA) from UCSF School of Medicine. He completed his internship at UCLA and took his residency in ophthalmology at the famed Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. From there, he completed a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Utah. He has been a physician instructor for numerous LASIK courses. Dr. Elkins was the Medical Director of TLC-Encino from 2003 to 2007 where he was a leading provider of LASIK surgery in Los Angeles. Today, Dr. Elkins frequently lectures to other physicians on the fine points of LASIK and advanced cataract surgery. Furthermore, he has authored numerous articles on advanced cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, and laser refractive surgery.

This is for ONE eye cataract removal and lens replacement. Cash as of 11-19 $3700 for pre op workup, op and surgicenter and all post [2-4 visits]. $400 for the anesthesiologist. If you need pre op tests like EKG, add that. Insurance makes things… more

1-2 visits to get the specs on your vision....about 2 weeks from visit one to last post op visit. 5 stars.

He is the best! Unfortunately he diagnosed my diabetes through an eye exam. He also discovered a retina tear for a family member so early that it saved his sight!!!! He also found eye cancer in a good friend of mine, but now she is alive and well. Amazing doctor!!!!! He has also performed expertly my husband's two cataract surgeries. This doctor really cares about his patients, and is the top in his field!

No post surgery problems either (as was my prior experience with Dr. Berg a few years ago on another eye). When you can compare you can definitely appreciate Dr. Elkins MORE!! He has great personality and best of all delivers the results he promises. I'm SUPER happy and would refer Dr. Elkins to anyone. Only few issues I'm having are with his biller, I'm STILL getting MORE bills not covered by insurance after already paying almost $5,000 out of pocket. Hopefully they will correct that issue, otherwise the staff is great and Dr. Elkins - just can't say enough good things about how talented he is. I read 3 books, in just last 2 weeks since the surgery and gave away all of my reading glasses that used to cause me headaches. THANKS!

Dr. Elkin is the best. He's been my ophthalmologist for 20+ years. He was recommended and performed my LASIK procedure and has always been thorough and state of the art. Office staff are friendly and professional.

Dr.Elkins performed my LASIK surgery and I can't say enough good things about the whole process. From start to finish, everyone who looked at my eyes was professional, calming and reassuring. Dr.Elkins was so calm and informative and my vision is amazing now! It's so exciting!

From the surgery coordinator Anna, to the entire staff at Dr Elkins office and of course to the doctor himself, my experience was awesome! They over communicated, made the process simple and I can now see PERFECTLY. My vision was -5.0 so you can imagine how life changing doing this surgery was. Thank you Dr Elkins!!!

Dr Elkins is smart, personable, confident, and reassuring; exactly what you need when you are selecting someone to be poking around inside your eyeballs. He removed cataracts from both my eyes. Successful outomes in both cases. It's wonderful to see well. Staff was very supportive and seemed to enjoy being part of an entity that helps people to see.
