City Nails II

I went for a manicure and pedicure which were great. The reason I gave 3 stars is because they charge you $3 for using a debit/credit card and if you do not get gel polish on your nails they will only do clear polish.

I am surprised at some of the reviews that I saw I've been using city nails for the last five or six years. The service has always been courteous. My nails have been manicured perfectly they let me choose the polish. They may make a recommendation, but in the end is always my choice. I've never found him to be rude. I'd recommend him wholeheartedly.

RUDE. DISMISSIVE. DISREPECTFUL. PLEASE LET'S SERIOUSLY CONSIDER HOW TO ALWAYS KEEP OUR MONEY IN OUR COMMUNITY AS HAS BEEN MODELED BY MANY OTHER GROUPINGS OF PEOPLE. THERE ARE STELLAR BOB NAIL SALONS AND SPAS IN PHILLY AND ITS SURROUNDING AREAS.

I used to frequent here for years. I stopped my business with them when years ago when my eyebrows were done so poorly that I was embarrassed to show my face. They did not care.

In a rush, I tried today to get toe polish change and a gel mani. The owner misunderstood my request for service and I was given a gel polish change. The cracks in my nails were covered with acrylic that the tech (same one who botched my eyebrows years ago) didn't bother to even smooth out. I kept asking for them to be cut down. She told me it looked fine.

I'd already paid and tipped her in cash. I was upset but try to deal kindly regardless. I even said, okay I am in a rush because I have to work. It was a misunderstanding. And instead of the owner offering a solution she mumbled under her breath for me to have a nice life!

I was so upset that once I got home I left my house and went back to ask her if we could speak privately to come to a solution. She told me no because she was with a client. They stop to do eyebrows when with a client but again the DISRESPECT IS AGGREGIOUS.

I insisted she give me the respect of a conversation. She said call her. I said no. You insulted me in person you will make it right in person and asked for a better time.

She then asked, after calling me a liar, that I leave my number which I did.

Even a gel polish should not look this terrible! They do not care. I am not upset about the money. I am upset about the lack of human decency and the lack of professionalism. I am appauled that this owner values my dollar more than me and is brazen enough to let me know to my face that rendering respectful, excellent service is something she feels that I do not deserve. Whether it is because I am black . . . I don't know. The thing is that excellent service doesn't make you wonder.

Do not support this business. If you already do, please consider taking your money somewhere else.

The worst service ever. The technician rushed to do my service, left oil dripping down my legs, and then overcharged me simply because I questioned a second coat of polish. I intended on get another service and she rudely said "go the room". I will not recommend this nailery and I will never ever go there again. P.S. my paint job was horrible, nail shaped horribly, and I had to go to another nailery immediately after to get it fixed...

I just went to get my toes done on friday with my friend & 2 days later my polish is coming off,they also did a horrible job and they also had a really nasty attitude DONT EVER GO THERE !

The finish result the past 3 tim have been absolutely horrible. The shape of my nails after placing them in the LED light with acrylic horrible and they don't reshape them. I went in there for one color and was persuaded to get another color. They allow their clients to leave with wrinkled in smooth clear polish on top of the color which makes the whole nail look bad. I said I wasn't coming back before and then figured id give them another chance. I'm still not happy. Won't be back.

The owners sister did a horrible job at polishing my gel and their attitude was complelty nasty when I asked politely if there was anything she could do to fix it or at least discounted the gel price and they gave me an attitude about it saying there's nothing wrong with it and clearly the gel was all over my skin, missing gel in areas of the nail it was complelty a mess DON NOT EVER GO THERE!!!! HORRIBLE SERVICE AND HORRIBLE QUALITY OF WORK

Nice environment and owner was very nice. Prices reasonable. Not many choices in gel
Colors but the nail job was great.

If I could give this place zero stars I would.
The nail tech cut my nail beds open when she was smoothing out my nails. my nail beds were bleeding. my nails our only 3 quarters of the way painted. I am at home now and every time I wash my hands my nail beds burn. The nail tech was rude and she didn't care that she cut my nail beds!

Very nice ppl, Terrible work however. Nail polish is always applied to thick and chips easy
