Daryle Bennett Hairstylist

Made an appointment for a wash and blow out a few hours before a bridal shower. Was worried I would be double booked or that I'd have an appt that lasted all day. Was so pleased with quality of blow out and experience- was seated right away and the entire appt was less time than I expected. Daryle was very nice easy to talk to and I was happy with my hairstyle. Would recommend his styling and will definitely make another appointment!

Yesterday was the first time I ever went to see Daryle and he gave me a gorgeous cut!

For over 10 years I wore my hair cut very low. As a matter of fact, I got my hair cut by a barber. Then about two years ago, I decided I wanted to let my hair start growing again, so to help with the process I started wearing braids which I maintained for about 10 months (December 2010 - October 2011). In November 2011 I went to a salon to get a relaxer. Although I experienced substantial hair growth during the time I wore braids, a few months after getting a relaxer, I started experiencing hair breakage towards the back of my head.

After reading several reviews of other stylists on Yelp, I liked what others had to say about Daryl and I decided to schedule an appointment with him. Although Daryl has a very friendly personality he takes his craft very seriously. He was interested in knowing about the history of my hair care and what I wanted and then he told me what needed to be done in order to achieve the desired results.

I really had no idea as to how Daryl was going to remedy my hair breakage without giving me a major hair cut which I was completely against, but he did! I absolutely LOVE the end result! I'm a little pressed for time right now and I've never posted to Yelp before, but if I can I will post a picture of my hair style at a later date. Not only does Daryl possess great technical skills, he also possesses fantastic people skills which is hard combination to find in any industry.

Daryle is amazing. As a hair stylist and as a person. I've been going to salons since I was a little girl and I've never really felt comfortable with a stylist but Daryle is hilarious. We were laughing and talking the whole time. Not to mention he works fast and the results are amazing. I've been natural for two years and I came in with my hair looking crazy, and Daryle had it smooth and soooo soft by the time I left. For any naturals in NYC looking for a great hairstylist, I would 100 percent recommend Daryle.

I saw Daryle just a few weeks ago, overall it was a great experience. My appointment started promptly, and I was in and out within a reasonable period of time. He knew how to handle my hair, and I would regard him as a natural hair expert. The service was a little pricey compared to some places I had been in the past, considering that I didn't need a haircut. However, my hair felt great, and I really appreciated Daryle's friendly demeanor. I will definitely return. Thanks, Daryle!

After having my hair DESTROYED by heat damage after one visit to a Dominican salon, Daryle got me together. I came in with tears in my eyes and left feeling amazing. The service is excellent and he is a hair genius. A little pricey but the amazing cut I got was well worth it.

Found Daryle on Yelp after having a difficult time finding a reliable salon in the city with a flexible schedule. I called on Wednesday and was able to make an appointment for that Saturday...which is pretty unheard of.

Once I got to the salon, there was zero wait. Again, pretty unheard of. And they had someone on staff offering pizza slices to patrons because it was around lunch time. Don't know if that's a regular thing, but it was a pretty solid representation of how friendly everyone is here.

Daryle himself was friendly, funny, knowledgable, and started our appointment by really listening to my hair history (read: all the dumb damage I'd done to it thus far) as well as what I wanted out of this appointment. I really hadn't been taking care of it and it was a dry, frizzy, partially-relaxed mess. I'm half black, half English so my hair leaves a lot of stylists frustrated and confused. Daryle promised he'd make sure I left the salon feeling like a new woman.

He checked in with me throughout the appointment to make sure I knew what was going on and that we were both on the same page in terms of how he was cutting/styling. Most hair stylists end up chopping inches off when you've got split ends, but Daryle actually listened to my request that I was trying to keep it a similar length. We found a good length for bangs and he was able to get my hair looking incredible without an onslaught of greasy hairsprays.

So happy with how it came out. It's soft, straight, shiny and I look a lot less like Don King. I've gotten relaxer/haircuts that were less expensive, but for how I felt leaving the appointment it was totally worth the cost. Thanks Daryle!

Went to Darryl to get my natural hair cut after a 6 year hiatus from beauty salons. It was one of my best decisions Darryl cutting my hair was truly a lovely experience. I am definitely going to be a repeat customer.

I have been going to Daryle for a while now. He is very attentive and considerate of my needs. My hair is doing well.

Daryle is a stylist within the Hair by Joseph salon, and I just saw him yesterday in order to fix the highlights that I received at another salon that did not process long enough, thus didn't really show up. First and foremost Daryle was very friendly and welcoming, even when I was a smidgen late (coming from work), and had made a very last minute appt through Lifebooker. He gave a great consult, and, unlike the other salon I went to, there was no rush and my color was allowed to really process. He, along with his assistant, did a great job with my hair, and most importantly I left with much more noticeable highlights and a very nice color. Timewise, there were no long waits or anything during my appointment, though this was a Wednesday evening.

Scheduled a hair appointment for a birthday treat and I am so happy with the experience! Daryle is professional and gave me the style that I desired. I have natural hair and wanted to get it straightened without having a lot of heat applied to it. He did exactly that. He achieved the style I desired with little heat and little time. I am pleased with my results.
