Deco de Mode

Did a fantastic job on my wife's nails. She loved them , was able to get in last minute on a Sat morning and the technician (an Iranian lady ... Shyla ? Shaira?) was awesome !

AVOID AT ALL COSTS if you care about your rights as a paying customer! Deco De Mode took my money for services it did not render and refused to give it back!

I urge anyone reading this not to set foot in an establishment that treats its customers so unfairly and disrespectfully and not put their bodies under the care of its employees again.

I purchased a package from Deco de Mode in Winter 2020 right before the COVID-19 pandmic began. When the lockdowns started, I had to move to another province and could not use the rest of my 4/6 sessions. I recently found out that I would not be returning to Victoria to use the rest of my session and reached out to the business to ask for a refund of the rest of my money. I said that it would even be okay to receive store credit to buy services for friends or use in their online shop. The manager Melissa was my point of contact. She refused to give me a refund/credit.
Although repeatedly describing to her that I would not ever come to Victoria, she still kept insisting that they can't offer a refund because of their "store policy" and I can come in for sessions when I'm in town. Again, that is literally impossible for me because I will never be in Victoria again. They finally told me that I cannot even come in for the sessions. They are withholding my money for services that have not, will not, and cannot be rendered.
My move and inability to use the services I paid for was a special circumstance during unprecedented pandemic times and this business failed to accomodate unlike other businesses. Deco De Mode is now basically stealing my money by telling me I can't get a refund because of their "policies", and that I no longer am allowed to come in for my sessions, which is in no way legal. Their "policy" can easily be amended because of my special circumtance. They just refuse to do so.

Deco De Mode's policies, set by the owners, which Melissa kept citing, aren't set in place for their clients, rather to profit off of their clients without any sort of compassion and care for their welfare. The company's handling of this matter was completely illegal.

In her last email, Melissa was very unprofessional, saying "she did not force me to move". This wasn't something that I ever accused her off, and it came off very rude and uncompassionate.

This business has now taken hundreds of dollars of my money and refuses to pay it back. I hope the owners and Melissa reflect on what kind of unjust establishment they are running, and reflect on the illegality and unfairness of their policies.

I have been coming here for about 2.5 years and it's always a great experience. The consultants are all skilled and professional and the space is spotless. Even during the pandemic I always felt safe coming in--they paid attention to everything. Ventilation, distancing, reduced capacity, masks, face shields, plexi barriers, temperature checks, contract tracing...I even brought my mom in for a pedicure. Highly recommend!

Friendly staff and good COVID protocols. Manicure quality could be better. The nail tech did a messy job with the polish, there were a lot of smudges around the cuticles and sides. I asked her to clean them up and she only did a minimal clean-up as she was rushing to finish and get her next client in. It was a good service overall but not worth the high price they charge.

I have been coming to Deco de Mode for years. The quality of the services they offer is the best in town by my estimation. With Covid-19 in play, the salon takes every precaution to keep their clients and staff safe. I wouldn't hesitate to come to Deco de Mode if you are thinking about sampling their services.

My first time was a negative experience but the owner was very nice and quick to fix the situation. I went back for a spa pedicure and it was wonderful. Norri was the sweetest. I love how clean the salon is!

I do not recommend this place. It's management is quite poor. She did not make me feel comfortable during my visit or was very nice in her customer service. It felt like the staff treated me differently since I'm not a regular customer. Overall very poor experience and the service was incredibly overpriced for what you receive. I suggest supporting another business who will take better care of you!

Arrived for my appointment and am still waiting 30 minutes as the tech is a no show. No indication of what the "personal issue" is the receptionist says they are having.

I have only had my eyebrows waxed a few times with Danielle, who is super pleasant and does an amazing job. My only complaint personally is their reception/booking- I've had three appointments, and one time they didn't have a room and I had to wait until after my appointment to get into one, and the other I was booked in with the wrong person (which Danielle was awesome about and got me in, but I booked online specifically with her). Otherwise, the place is usually relatively busy and is clean, and I would be interested in further services in the future.

Been getting eye lashes done for over 15 years. Spent $150 to get a set done that last 5 days. Owner gave me a 50% discount - when I went in to use it they charged me an extra $15 for glue ! Lol terrible !!!
