I needed an urgent repair to our boiler after returning from holidays to no hot water or heat on our lower level. I originally called Canyon Plumbing who had done the original install. After 5 or 6 attempts I was able to leave them a message but after 3 weeks no one has called me back. Fortunately I found DHL on line (he had the best reviews) He was prompt courteous, and had us up and running in no time. I arranged for him to come back the week after to do a major service on our boiler that hadn't been done and he was able to do it with minimal cost. I would certainly recommend DHL, Mark was great.

I'm sure I'm not the only female who cringes when I have to call in a trades person for some service or repair in my home on something I know nothing about. Women are not stupid but the male/female brain is wired differently.
There was a problem with the boiler for my walk-out level in-floor heating and I had no heat. I called the company who had originally installed the boiler system and luckily they could come to my home the same day. The service man showed up, inspected the boiler, told me he could not do the work that day and that his office would call me to set another appointment. He also charged me (company policy) an embarrassingly high amount of money for his house call. I had no heat in that part of the house all over Christmas and through to the third week of January when I made a call asking why I had not yet been contacted. By this time I had absolutely no confidence left with this company. I did make another appointment with them but felt so unsure that I cancelled the appointment to seek out someone else.
On line I found DHL Mechanical and actually got to speak to Mark, the owner and not a recording. Even though he was extremely busy, within a few days DHL were at my home and came prepared to work on the boiler right away. I found Mark to be polite, articulate and very knowledgeable. Each step of the way he explained what the boiler issues were and what would be required to fix the problems. Mark worked that day and then had to return a couple of days later with some additional parts to finish the job. I was impressed by his diligence in making a follow up phone call to me after a couple of days to check that everything was now working and that I had heat again.
DHL did a great job and their level of service should be what all companies aspire to give their customers. Good job, well done!

I had called Mark at DHL after not getting a fast response from other plumbing and heating companies in somewhat of an emergency situation after returning from and out of town trip. When I called Mark he agreed to come by late in the afternoon even though he was working on the opposite end or town. He ended up putting in a new furnace as the old one was done. ( He also got the furnace and started the next day). He also cleaned up all the ductwork that the original builder had put in looking like a spaghetti nightmare which increased the movement area dramatically in my furnace room. I really appreciated his promptness as he showed up each day when he said he would and was always very diligent in cleaning up after themselves. I was so impressed with his work and his professionalism that since then I have had him replace my A/C and also give my in floor heating system a complete tuneup which are all working great still. Installation of Boiler and Mechanicals for In-Slab Heating

I contacted Mark Davie based on an internet search for this type of service. I was impressed first of all because, though he was in the middle of something when I called him, he called back when he said he would. He also showed up to do the estimate on time, and brought a portfolio of pictures of similar jobs he had completed in my area. During the estimate, he discussed potential problems with the way my furnace room was set up and how to address them and he also incorporated some ideas I had (i.e., to eliminate my hot water heater and use the boiler to heat the in-slab water and our household water, thus eliminating the need to cut another hole in the exterior wall). When Mark provided his estimate, he also provided numerous references, copies of all his qualification certificates, more examples of his work, etc.) I also had another estimate done by a larger company I had used before (and had been satisfied with). To be honest, their estimate was considerably lower (but without the details and references from satisfied customers). When I told Mark, he asked if he could see the estimate and when I showed it to him, he walked me through it and pointed out the differences in cost due to lower quality components, using plastic versus copper pipe, etc.). He did offer to pretty much match their estimate, but I chose to pay the extra money because I was comfortable that he was an honest person intent on doing the best possible job. Mark completed the work on time and on budget and while I was on vacation (i.e., I didn't check on his progress every day, nor was it necessary). In fact, because we decided (mutually) to go to a larger (and more expensive) holding tank when he was halfway through the job, Mark took care of reselling my fairly new hot water heater, which pretty much compensated me for the difference. When we arrived home from our vacation, the difference in my basement was awesome. It's now comfortable and we can use it to work out, watch movies, host overnight guests, etc., and no one is freezing. The furnace room has been transformed. The quality of the workmanship is awesome and Mark also rerouted (no charge) some ductwork to make it even easier to move around. I would recommend DHL Mechanical's services without reservation.
