Evolution Flooring

Absolutely phenomenal experience with Jorge and his team! We had a relatively small job (220 sq ft) and had a lot of different options laid out when he came to look at it. His experience and knowledge helped us choose and he and his team was there within 2 work days to get everything done way above our expectations. We had some tricky corners and fireplace placement they were able to navigate, we could tell right away their attention to detail was such that we didn't need to worry at all. The price was basically what we were quoted by others that didn't have their expertise and I felt like I'm so glad I didn't try to DIY this or go with another company. Something else I appreciated was he didn't just sell us the service and have someone else show up to do it. Jorge was there throughout the whole project. His team was super professional and left everything immaculate!

Following a small leak, our bedroom floor showed signs of water damage that as it turned out required the hardwood to be replaced. We contacted Evolution and Jorge came by quickly, assessed the situation and recommended what to do. He followed through as laid out and agreed, on schedule, very diligently and professionally. The result looks great. Damage to flooring and the subsequent repair is a rather intrusive affair, but working with Jorge and his team kept the impact on our day to day to a minimum. All in an all a pleasure working with them and I wouldn't hesitate bringing them back in for another job in the house.

Jorge and the Evolution Flooring team are the best. They made it easy from start to finish. Responsive, attentive, communicative, flexible, honest and fair. The team arrived in time and ensured they gave the best fair and repair to our old 1927 floors. Albert was a magician in covering the old floor furnace. Jorge personally came back to fix an unforeseen issue. I honestly wish I can hire them for other projects.

Used Jorge and his team back in September of 2016. The process was that we picked out the flooring we wanted at Old Master products in West LA, make the purchase and then Jorge would come and pick it up. That worked out nicely for us because we were very happy with our selection.

I have no complaints about the install job. The main thing bringing my rating down from 5 stars to 3 stars is:

For the baseboards, instead of replacing the baseboards with what I wanted, Jorge curtly stated that they were out of stock and instead I had to have quarter-rounds. If this were a simple condo or apt rental property, that would have been fine. But this job was for our primary residence on a 100+ year old 1.5M craftsman home. Who the hell leaves the old baseboards there and install the flooring as if the old baseboards were the wall and then covers it up with quarter-rounds??

Jorge also gave me some attitude when I told him that the painters would paint the quarter-rounds before being installed.

I was very inexperienced back then and actually believed him when he said they were all out of stock on anything other than the quarter-rounds. I'm currently renovating my new residence (different location) and with a proper flooring person who is providing me with a nice selection of beautiful baseboards. He also laughed when I told him I didn't want quarter-rounds. He basically said no-one should use quarter-rounds on a house....ever!

Jorge, Albert, and the crew are fantastic. We had them refinish the hardwoods in the entire house, and they were extremely communicative, thorough, and did a great job. They truly stand by their work and were happy to do touchups to make sure we were pleased with the final result, and we are. Their time and pricing estimates were accurate, and they were clear with how to care for the floor after, when it was ok to walk on, put furniture back, etc. They came as a recommendation from a contractor friend of ours, and I'm happy to recommend them to others.

It took me a while to post a review since i knew i had so many excellent things to say about Evolution Flooring. Firstly, Jorge is AMAZING. He is super knowledgeable about hardwood floors plus everything else you need to know before you get any flooring projects started which is super helpful so that it helps you sign up for what you're really signing up for. I wanted the matte finish look with white oak with a very specific vision. Jorge exactly knew what i wanted and accomplished my vision, very very exceptionally done, very proud and satisfied. Jorge explains each and every process from day 1 to the end of the project and that is super helpful because you want to know the process of your floor. Jorge also swings by after the floor is finished if there is anything that needs to be touched up. There's also william on the team and he is super friendly and he always informs you of what is happening when you happen to be on site with him. My floor is amazing and i can't wait to show the world. Thank you so much Jorge and his team for all the hard work. :)

Jorge is a true craftsman and I am so happy with our newly refinished floors!

Although scheduling was a bit difficult (due to our home improvement schedule and Jorge seeming to work nonstop), I am so glad to have stuck with it.

As first time home owners navigating a whole new world of contractors, we have had many great experiences but sadly many more rough ones, and the new floors have given us renewed excitement and hope in forging on with the home improvement plan, and Jorge has also helped us work around some issues. For example, we delayed the installation of our shoe moulds until we can fix some drywall issues caused by a handyman.

We were really impressed with not only the craftsmanship Jorge brought to the table but also the professionalism. From even just having a contract, to initiating a walk through upon completion and flagging areas for us throughout the process, to answering our millions of questions in between, it was a pleasure to work with Jorge and his team and will be super excited for the final job (post drywall correction).

Can't recommend Jorge enough!

I've now used Evolution Flooring for three jobs, and there are many reasons I keep coming back! Jorge and his team simply do a fantastic job. When you first contact Jorge, he'll come out promptly and provide a thorough estimate with a very fair price. The team is very skilled and brings old wood floors back to life, completely changing the feel of an interior space.

I used them on a job at my house, where the oak floors were sanded and refinished with a darker stain. He's also screened the floors on two 100-year old rental units, where I was advised the wood was too thin for a full sanding. In each case, I was very, very happy with the work.

We just had some hardwood refinishing done by Evolution Flooring and they did a great job. The crew was very professional and friendly. I highly recommend them!

5 Stars for Jorge and Evo Flooring!

I received a recommendation from my friend who's a realtor and does a lot of flips, so I already knew he'd be trustworthy and good. But even with my already high expectations, Jorge exceeded them. A contractor who takes pride in his work and has the highest integrity, and really just wants his clients to be happy.

My floors look outstanding (even my designer who has very discerning taste was impressed), but aside from that, I was happy with how they handled some hiccups along the way. I hadn't ordered enough wood and they were able to squeeze an extra day into their very busy schedule to come back and finish my floors for me when the extra wood arrived.
