When you cancel an appointment you send the person a message.... That they don't matter, and their time isn't important. Especially when the 3 out of the 4 appointments you prepaid for are canceled and rescheduled. The first one was sickness (understandable) second one was they were out of numbing cream and the last one I because of a conference in Atlanta. (Turns out they are relocating there) I was having Morpheus8 treatments and fractional laser treatments, which means that I must stop all my skin care a week beforehand, I also had requested time off work because I didn't want to have to apply sunscreen to my tender face. So, when my appointments are rescheduled, it was more than just an annoyance. At my last appointment (July 26th) I spoke to Kaitlyn about why I was not going to continue treatments (prepaid for) at Exclusively Faces and that I was told I would not be receiving a refund. She said she would get back to me after speaking to Dr. Karen by Friday the 28th. Today is August 11th and still nothing. Lots of over-promising and under-delivering.
On a positive note, the staff I encountered and worked with over the 6 months have been so nice and I was comfortable during my treatments.
I can't speak of my results because I haven't completely healed and to achieve the best results, I should have received my treatments every month where mine were always pushed out 6-7 weeks apart.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We understand this frustration and apologize for any inconvenience caused because of rescheduling a patient appointment. We try to avoid this if at all possible and we only reschedule to make sure that a patient will receive the best care possible. We would love the opportunity to make things right. Please reach out to the office whenever possible.

I'm in my late 30s female. I went to get fillers and it was great. I wanted natural anti ageing. That's what I got. He didn't try to over fill me to where I couldn't move anything. I did have Kaitlyn do my consult, very professional. He came in, he knew what I wanted. Quick easy and painless. Its been 2 months and I will be back! Great job Dr. Karen and staff

I would not have even done a 1 star but had to pick something. Had Lazer hair removal has not worked even after all sessions, had put a deposit down on a procedure but 2 days later changed my mind due to many reasons one being a serious health condition. Nothing was ever signed in agreement but here we are months later and they still are refusing to refund the money. Are they that desperate to keep someone's money when they are not going to ever do the procedure? Be very cautious as they obviously are not the business they claim to be.

Several years ago, Dr. Karen performed medical nose surgery for me. I've been experiencing issues recent multiple sinus infections recently, and I made an appointment about a month ago to revisit him to see if anything can be done to correct this issue for me.
On two occasions, and for various reasons, Jessica from his office there called me and asked me to reschedule the appointment. I graciously rearranged my schedule to accommodate their needs. On the day of the settled appointment, I made a mistake in arriving 10 minutes late. I had thought the appointment was at 11, but I arrived at 10:40 thinking I was actually early. I was told that I'm going to have to reschedule now despite driving 30 minutes to get here. I offered to wait around a few hours realizing I did make the mistake but I was told no, too bad you're going to have to reschedule. So after being very gracious to this office and rearranging my schedule, not once, but twice for them, they could not grant me 10 minutes of being late to accommodate me. I find this very rude and inflexible. If I had been 20 to 30 minutes late, I can understand the issue. But to ask a patient not once but twice to be flexible for them and not give the patient 10 minutes is very unprofessional. I will not be coming back because of this disrespectful attitude toward the patient.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Asking patients to reschedule is something we try to avoid if at all possible. Typically, this only happens with inclement weather that forces us to close. We sincerely appreciate our patients’ flexibility when this occurs and we stive to be flexible as well if a patient needs to reschedule. Patients arriving late is another matter, as this can create delays in the schedule which imposes longer wait times on other patients. Still, we are sorry for any inconvenience.

Walking in this place was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. Dishonest physician and staff who blamed me for the procedure going wrong. I was clearly ripped off. The reason Dr. Karen injects so quickly is because he actually isn't injecting what you've paid for. I paid 2K for injections that didn't show up on a scan 4 weeks later. Injectable fillers show up on scans. Unfortunately, he didn't do what I paid him for, scammed me, and did a bait and switch. I'm guessing there are some cash flow problems at this office and in an effort to get some money, he doesn't do the procedures with actual product. It's really sad that someone like this is in business. This is stealing from patients who are seeking his assistance and it's criminal behavior, no different than stealing!
Also, please go through ALL his reviews on Yelp, even the ones not recommended by the Yelp site. Dr. Karen actually reviewed HIMSELF and was stupid enough to NOT change his profile name and photo. He's even talking about himself in the third person and giving himself 5 stars. How pathetic is that? It's pretty sad when a doctor has to go on Yelp to do damage control because his reputation is so questionable. Also, I checked and Dr. Karen IS NOT listed on the American Board of Plastic Surgery website as being certified. Go check for yourself! I WANT MY MONEY BACK BECAUSE YOU CROOKS RIPPED ME OFF!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Luke U.Keyser, WV01Jul 29, 2022
38 year old male. I just wanted to try filler to fix my lower eye bag on one side. The lady ensured me they could fix it and that I would need both sides done to be even. They took pictures from every angle. The doctor showed up and didn't really even look at my issue, he just quickly injected me like they're all done the same way i guess regardless of where your problem area is. He didn't speak to me and was gone before I realized it. Very non-personal. Now i guess it's because he knew i was just another sucker. I came in for the follow up appointment and they took pictures from every angle again , then i had to ask to see a before and after picture which was annoying. I was only shown one set of pictures from front view and they were obviously altered to put the after in a softer light which was insulting. I asked them to email me the before and after pictures and they agreed but never sent them. The eye bag was never fixed at all and the other eye just looks freaky and it made me depressed and lose more faith in humanity. I guess I could get it dissolved but i just want to stay away from these desperate, shameless, scammers. It was worth a try but just save for a blepharoplasty, they must only offer filler because they aren't capable of the surgery.

We appreciate patient feedback; however, this is quite different form the vast majority of reviews we receive. Dr. Karen is very attentive and engaged with patients. We treat each patient honestly and fairly. Frankly, it is not in our interest to alter before and after photos of patient results. Such a model would not be sustainable. Any patient may request their before and after photos at any time. The reality is, each patient will respond uniquely to treatment but the absolute best way to ensure a good result is to follow all after care instructions as closely as possible. Any patient concerned about their results is encouraged to reach out to our office directly to schedule a consult.

Sorry, can't recommend. Went in for Dysport for frown area. Doctor does not do the three spots across brow but just one area. They also suggested, and I agreed to, Dysport being placed just under outer brow to "lift" brow. Well, I wound up with a droopy eye for 3.5 mos. and a lifted brow (for only 3 wks.) on my right eye. The left eyed had sensitivity issues due to the frown injection and absolutely no lift at all, even after second treatment of Dysport in the area. I should mention that I was charged for the second injection. At no time did the doctor speak to me, it was his office staff only. At first, they were nice, but you could definitely tell you had become a "problem". I also noticed upon checkout, the price was slightly higher than quoted both times. I went to a plastic surgeon in Loudon County who told me that the frown injections above my eyebrow were not properly done and that it always should be done in the three areas above the brow. Makes sense. Frown and feel the muscle. It goes along your entire eye. The Loudon doctor also said my droopy eye and insensitivity was due to the concentration of product directly by the "11" frown area that went down into my sinuses. I have seen others post that their physical structure was blamed for the procedure going wrong. Same with me. I went to Dr. Karen as my doctor retired. I would definitely avoid.

Approximately 6.5% off all patients get a droopy eyelid from injections. This is not a provider error but is dependent on several patient factors. This statistical reality is made clear to ALL patients before their procedure and a consent form is signed by the patient confirming they understand all of the risks. Our Staff does everything we possibly can for each patient. Our injectables coordinator is always on hand to provide support and check-in on any patient with concerns. That said, sometimes continuing to treat this area can be a bad idea. Droopy eye typically corrects itself in a matter of weeks and the rest of the neurotoxin effects wear off in a couple of months at which point Dr. Karen is happy to reevaluate a patient and continue treatment.
We understand that some providers are all too happy to criticize the work of others to gain a patient. However, we are proud of the reputation we've built for consistently providing patients with expert guidance and exceptional results. We are committed to supporting our patients until they are fully satisfied. - Sylvia H.Stephens City, VA051Jun 10, 2013
He was just too fast and didn't seem to think it was worth explaining anything. I should have looked up his reviews being having septum surgery. The worst is his receptionist, she sent TWO emails asking for payment without sending me an invoice, both times I gave her a fax number to send the invoice too. The second time she told me I would need to pay when I came in to see the doctor for my follow up appoint after surgery! At this point it has only been two weeks after the surgery and I still had seen no invoice. The fax came after my appointment time and I paid it in full, BUT they charged me with a 25 dollar missed appointment fee. Sounds to me like the practice has some cash flow issues and the office staff is making it worse. I would have understood if it was months after surgery, but demanding payment two weeks after and not having mailed out an invoice is unacceptable.
Update 6/9/2013: Dr Karen had his staff call me to schedule an appointment, after the above debacle and a review posted online. I was under the impression he may actually want to check my nose to confirm it has been healing properly. No, not the case, what he really wanted to talk about was the review I left about my experience with his business. Mainly he was making excuses for why they were pressing me to collect an invoice that was never sent. When I told Karen his receptionist demanded payment before seeing him for my follow up, he told me he did not know she did this. HOWEVER, Just 3 days prior to this meeting his billing office told me they sent him a copy of the email his receptionist had sent me.
I would have let all of this go, until I received another 25 dollar missed appointment bill today. This is for the appointment I canceled because I refused to pay an invoice I had never seen.
The check is in the mail Dr. Karen, your business needs it worse than me!
Also, about 20 positive reviews were posted the day after my meeting with him, all from his staff I'm sure. You are not fooling anyone.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mike G.Stephens City, VA02May 6, 2013

Booked an appt for cosmetic surgery. When I went for my first appointment, I was given paperwork to fill out. I heard I presume the dr and the receptionist discussing me a few feet away behind the desk. The were discussing charging me a no show fee of $150.00 because I was taking too long to fill out paperwork and it was going into the appointment time. REALLY?! I got up and walked out before the appt even began. Due to greediness, they lost out on about 10-20K. Please don't waste YOUR time.
