The work isi good, but the salon is so, so dirty. They do clean the pedicure area but nothing else. I would never go back here again, just because it's
unsanitary.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alena B.Queens, Queens, NY340117Feb 14, 2020
After a bad experience with a salon in the same neighborhood I saw this spot and decided to try it out. They usually do appointments (which is already a sign of a good business) but luckily was scales to book me for a cancellation.
She was efficient and careful, had my set done and done WELL in just half an hour. This set with a design was $37 which is excellent for the Cambridge area. They've just found a new regular!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christy F.Cambridge, MA17068Sep 25, 2020
It was very unsanitary, they cut me multiple times, and they are really bad are gel pedicures. They are also not taking the proper precautions for COVID either. Their foot tubs are disgusting.

Review is for gel removal and regular manicure. The removal process was fine until everything was completely taken off and then I started to notice there was left behind residue.
The cuticle clean up was terrible as I still had visible skin left around the sides.
While the tech (I believe to be the owner) was polishing my nails I pointed out that there was left behind gel or something on my nail. She was clearly going to ignore it if I didn't say anything.
All my nails were uneven and misshaped!!
Won't be going back and wouldn't recommend to any one I like HA.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tia M.Cambridge, MA05May 24, 2021
I called to ask for prices the lady told me one price then when it was time to pay she changed it when I after her 3 times and then she messes up my nails and I asked her if she could fix it she got mad and said she's busy so I left... I'm never going back there again the nail tech is very rude

$50 gel mani and regular pedi. They have signs for cash only tip because they don't have the restaurant style card machine. However, you can give a credit card tip by telling them how much to add before they run your card. I came in an hour before they closed on a Thursday and they didn't seem to rush at all. They took enough time to soak and paid attention to my cuticles. Pedicure chair back, neck, and head massager was one of the better ones I've sat in.
Update: at day 11 the edges of my gel mani are pulling up pretty bad. My hair has been getting caught every time I run my fingers run though it. This gel mani was "good" for 1 week.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - julie A.Cambridge, MA081Sep 7, 2017
I've been to Family Nail for pedicures with Anna a few times and I've always been happy.
Today, I wanted a full set of sculptured acrylic nails. I told Anna exactly what I wanted: 1) thin and active length; and 2) all sculpture - NO NAIL TIPS.
Mind you, my nails are short so there wasn't much to work with but she said, "Hmm...okay!"
She got right to work and did the job exactly how I wanted it, and quickly too. It's been a long time since I had acrylic nails, but I remember the process well enough to know that she didn't cut any corners.
I am very happy with my new acrylic nails and would highly recommend her.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ashley L.Boston, MA255556Mar 6, 2017Updated review
Disappointed and a little frustrated. I came in about an hour before closing and asked if they had time for a gel mani and a regular pedi. My pedicure was pretty good and the lady seemed nice but my manicure was a whole different story.
My gel manicure was done while I was in the pedicure chair and the manicurist was standing. I was the only person in there until the end (two other women came in) and based on how I was being treated I definitely felt rushed. Since she did not take the time to carefully do my nails you can see how messy they are and that's very disappointing since I now have to pay someone else to fix the gel polish.
If someone asks you if you have time, don't say "yes of course" if you really just want to get out of there for the day. I guess there must have been a reason the place up the street had a 20 min wait.
I am leaving three stars because the pedicure lady was really kind and did a good job. It's just a shame that I don't feel comfortable going back now.
UPDATE: I am downgrading this to one star because less than 4 days later my gel manicure has started to just peel off. Why pay $30 dollars for a two week manicure when it is a total mess 4 days later!
I have never had this problem with Le Nails or Gorgeous Nails right down the street.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 3, 2017Previous reviewDisappointed and a little frustrated. Great service! I'd call ahead just to make sure you're not coming at a busy time. I got a Spa Pedicure (it includes a paraffin treatment so it's an extra $5 from a standard pedicure). It cost $30 ( Very reasonable)
Also, they number their nail polish! It doesn't seem like much but it makes it easier to remember if you come back here a second time with a color in mind!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alex D.Springfield, MA9474May 21, 2017
Needed a gel manicure bad & this place was only a half mile from my boyfriends apartment. Very clean and the staff was friendly. It's a small joint and there were only two women working when I walked in but my technician sat my right away and it does not feel cramped when you're inside.
They had a good selection of the OPI gel colors and my technician did a great job. Priced pretty fair at $27.00 for a gel mani. Will definitely go back if I'm in Cambridge and need a fix!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
