We very much enjoy Fernando's any have for many years. I really can't understand the small handful of reviews that say anything less than very good about the experience. I have enjoyed more dinners at Fernando's in the last 8 years or so than I can count, 100 plus. Not every dinner has been the absolute best but what place can deliver that .. BUT not a single dinner has been anything less than very good. The mushroom soup is amazing, the bread is very fresh (homemade?) and very tasty. Although we not longer eat beef or pork, we have had some of the best steak and rib dinners at Fernando's before we changed. The crab cake entree, scallop entree, fish and chicken dishes are some of the best in the area. YES IT IS A BYOB!
I can honestly say the service has not always been the best but never did I have such an off night that I felt the need to say something to Fernando or his brother Marcello. They get very busy and sometimes they probably get overwhelmed, it happens everywhere!
I have a top ten list of area restaurants and Fernando's is comfortable situated right in the middle of the list!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Birgit S.Princeton Junction, NJ03Mar 29, 2015
They get one star because the food was good, over salted but good. The service was horrible. The maitre d was rude to our party as was the hostess. The waitress after taking 30 minutes to take our order said "did you have a chance to look at the menu?" Uh yes we have it memorized. Our glasses were dirty and they turned the lights on and started stacking chairs while we were still there! It was a 7:30 reservation for which they didn't seat us until 8 and then started stacking chairs and turning the lights on at 10 pm on a Saturday night. Bizarre place I do not recommend. You can go to so many other places that will give you excellent service and "good" food. To me that's the fun of going out to dinner.

Nice BYOB restaurant in the East Windsor/Hightstown area. We had the house salad which was nice and crisp, the mussels appetizer which was super flavorful (I love garlic), and then I went for the pork medallion entree because I rarely eat pork and it was delicious. Definitely worth trying this place out. There's a liquor store down the block headed towards Home Depot if you forget your booze!

We were here for the first time this past Friday, we live locally and have never visited this restaurant. I can't believe we have been missing out on some good food and service. We had two of the specials on the menu chicken marsala and grilled skewers (chicken, filet mignon and crab cake). We also had the Portobello and fresh mozzarella appetizer. The fresh mozz and portabella was accompanied with a pesto and red sauce that was very tasteful. The same followed with the main course everything was cooked well and the sauces were all well-seasoned and blended with each meal. The service was good and the prices were reasonably set for each item. We will definitely come back for another visit in the future.

Just had great dinner at this place. Cozy, comfortable, friendly service & great food. Lunches here are terrific too! Bring your own wine. Off street parking too!

I came in on a weekday and it wasn't busy. The service is great but the food is very mediocre. I ordered from the fix menu. The salad was not very fresh, entree and dessert were ok. Nothing particular is memorable

This place is a great restaurant hidden in plain site on the outskirts of Hightstown. The mussel appetizer is a large portion and so good! Hubby had the chicken francaise and he really enjoyed it. One in our group ordered the ahi tuna and was very pleased. Everyone had nothing but praise for this place. Love that it's a BYOB.

Tho we live in the general area this was our first time at Fernando's. Really good. Plenty of parking (in the rear of the building), roomy interior, VERY pleasant and attentive staff and an extensive menu, Most importantly the food was excellent (from appetizers to salads, entrees to dessert). The plates are a bit pricey ($20+ to $30+) BUT the quality justifies the price (IMHO). And it's a BYO so that helps keep the total bill reasonable. The only reason I didn't give the place 5 stars is that the interior is somewhat non-descript. But you don't go to a good restaurant for the décor, right? Anyway, we'll be visiting again in the future!!!

Great filet, pretty good service. Worth a stop for a meal!
I did return an hour and a half another day and the hostess told me they closed the kitchen because it was a slow night, so beware!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
