Bad experience regarding payment: They charged my credit card automatically for the month of June after we specifically informed them that we would be out of town for the summer. My daughter's last lesson was at the end of May and then she had her camp/summer plans.
Today we found out that there was a large charge on my credit card. My 14-year-old daughter went down to find out what was going on. The owner took her into a back room where she was yelled at and accused of lying about notifying about our plans! This is so inappropriate and unprofessional. We are horrified that the owner would treat a child this way regarding a payment situation.

Green Brooms is terribly managed, stay clear of this place. The owner lacks a moral compass, she takes your credit card information and charges you for lessons you did not get. Communication is lacking and inconsistent, teacher substitutions are frequent without advance notification. As well, their policies around make-up sessions or cancellations are so rigid that you will definitely lose money with this company. Zero stars

My daughter has been taking violin lessons with Becky Ward for almost 12 years. Now a senior in high school, I can't imagine what life will be like without our weekly visits to such a professional, nurturing, and cool place. Becky has been an absolute dream come true as an instructor and guide, and Green Brooms staff have always been accommodating, caring, and fun! As I reflect on what this journey has meant for my daughter, I am so grateful for the school auction 12 years ago where I won the two free Green Brooms music classes that started it all. My sincerest thanks!

My daughter has been studying violin at Green Brooms with the same extraordinary instructor (Rebecca Ward!) for over 8 years now and we have experienced not only the highest caliber instruction and support, but always kind and professional interactions with the owner and administrative staff. I've also sat in the lobby twice a week, every week classes are offered, for years and have never seen staff treat parents or students with anything but respect and accommodation. Trust me on this one!

My 8 year old daughter has been taking violin with Andy for the past couple of months. It's been a wonderful experience for her. Andy's funny and detail oriented in his instruction, and she's happily looked forward to her lessons every week.
I've met other participating families that attend privates during the same time, and everyone seems to feel the same about their experiences with their teachers - ranging from voice, piano, violin and drums.
If you're a novice wanting to pick up a new instrument or a more proficient student looking for a great music instructor, Green Brooms is the place to go. And if Andy is available for strings, ask for him, as he's an excellent choice, too!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - kammellia t.Santa Monica, CA1791411Jun 24, 2019
My daughter took music lessons here. The instructors are always changing never consistent. We tried to cancel our classes in April and they were still charging us as of June 1. The owner is screamed at my child and called her liar which really upset me. The owner is screaming all the time very hostile environment calling the kids liars. I do not recommend

This place is absolutely terrible. The teachers there barely know what they are teaching and they are overpriced not to mention a rip off. My daughter used to take classes here and we told them on multiple occasions that we were canceling our classes for the month of June. We began informing them of this well before April due to their one month prior policy. They then continued to charge us $400 dollars for the month of June and have refused us a refund.

I love Green Brooms. My son is 7.5 years old and started guitar lessons here at 6 years old. He's learned so much in the 1.5 years he's been here. Green brooms matched us up with an amazing guitar instructor who knows how to teach young kids and hold their attention!

My daughter and I started taking piano classes here after trying the Santa Monica Conservatory of music and also another private teacher who was lovely. Everyone has a different approach. And I find that, with all classes, you really need to find the right vibe and fit (in a teacher) for your personality. We finally landed on the ideal teacher for both of us. Her name is Selena. And she is new here and we both just adore her. They also teach other classes like guitar lessons and other instruments as well as piano lessons. But I just love the owners and all the people who work here. They run a very tight ship and I really appreciate their methods. I haven't taking piano class since I was six years old and I thought since my daughter is six, it would help her if I were practicing right alongside her. It's getting better every week.
