As a previous reviewer wrote "the photos speak for themselves"..and this is so true.
Just take a look of the photos & videos of the "quality" of work done by Hill Country Painting of our home on 08/30/2022, showing very messy work, some areas completely not painted..trimmed missed, paint stains left on the carpet & on door knobs and not cleaned up, despite the contract stating that it would be.
There were MULTIPLE walls that had areas missing paint & you could clearly see our old paint color underneath. Some of the shelves in our laundry room were not painted fully & had very messy lines.
We had multiple wall plates replaced w/ plates that were dirty & didn't belong to us, hair strands painted w/in the paint that you could clearly see on the trim along both sides of the stairs & very obvious brush strokes left on the trim of the stairs as well.
There were also obvious brush strokes left on the window ledges, several doors needing another coat of paint because some areas were very spotty..I could go on about the poor quality of work but honestly, the "finished" work looked horrible...please note, this is not an exaggeration..just look at the videos and photos included in this review.
These were all taken the day we were told that the work was "finished" & we could then do the final walk through to inspect the final work.
Needless to say, my husband & I were NOT SATISFIED with the quality of work during that walk through w/ Eric, the Project Manager so he had the painters come back the very next day, Friday to finish/fix their work & when they got here, they didn't even have their ladders or enough paint to redo what was still needing to be done so they had to leave & schedule to come back that next day on Saturday morning (9/03/22) to finish up.
So now a job that we were told would only take 2 -2.5 days at most was now going into its 5th day and it still wasn't completed!
The painters had to come out AGAIN today, Weds. 09/07/22 to fix the trim on the stairs because the paint wasn't matching & there were window ledges still needing to be painted, along w/ a hole needing to be patched up in our garage that wasn't done the 1st time around.
Dealing w/ Hill Country Painting has been so frustrating & has made this experience much harder then it needed to be.
We really tried our best to pick the best company for this job & had gotten 3 separate quotes from 3 different companies to paint our entire downstairs (living room, kitchen, laundry room, man cave, 1/2 bath, hallways, garage, stairwell, & the hallway upstairs, including all the doors upstairs.
Hill Country Painting was not the cheapest of the 3 companies and the reason we chose to go w/ Hill Country Painting is because Robert Manila, the Estimator who came to give the initial quote, did a great job of giving us the confidence in the quality of the work they could provide & we really liked that there would be a Project Manager to oversee the work however, once we signed the contract & tried to get ahold of Robert because he had left items out of the initial quote, he was no longer was helpful to us and couldn't even be bothered to return our phone calls.
IMO, Eric the project manager, needed to do a final walk through 1st w/ the lead painter to inspect the final work before we did a final inspection of the work because maybe then he would have caught ALL the items not yet done & maybe then, would have pointed out that some of the areas needed to be redone because it looked really bad.
Listen, save yourself the headache & go with a different company because as the customer, we really shouldn't have to go inspect EVERY.SINGLE WALL with the painter to show them that they missed an area so it can then get painted the right way & even then, things still are still getting missed.
Even today, 09/07/2022 as I write this review there are areas still missed & new areas w/ paint left on our carpet that were not cleaned up from the work done today, that I will be showing to Eric, the project manger when he comes by tomorrow to pick up the check.
Until then...to be continued.

The photos speak for themselves, but I have to give a shout out to the Hill Country Painting team!
From the initial request for a quote, Josh was responsive and quickly came to our home to discuss the job. We had our entire exterior siding replaced which required the painting crew to caulk the entire exterior (which was a big job as we had new board & batten installed meaning more material to caulk). All trim had been updated so again, more work. Josh confidently shared their team could do this job -
in addition, knowing we were going with a DARK color, he recommended we go with a MATTE finish. I was hesitant at first, so I asked for an address of another home w/ such finish to review. He quickly offered a nearby address. We drove by and the decision was done.
I want to add - we had 3 other quotes , one of which was almost DOUBLE HCP quote and another that matched HCP. Knowing that we are in spring/rainy season here in Austin meant that timeline was going to make one of these companies the clear winner. HCP fit us in for paint prep within 5 days. We were under contract.
The team arrived on time EVERY day. They worked diligently from 8-5 and were very communicative. Because of the rain and more rain, this turned into a two week project, but any time the sun was out, I'd get a 7:30 am text from Justin (the project manager) to ask if the team could come out. I always said YES.
The results speak for themselves. They did an INCREDIBLE job and we are SO happy with the transformation. The new caulking makes the house look brand new and the paint job is perfect and YES, the recommendation to go with the MATTE finish was spot on.
Thanks for making our experience a positive one and one we didn't regret.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - brian m.Austin, TX010428Mar 9, 2022
This ownership group is a stand up group...problems happen on every job, it's how you recover and listen to protect the reds of the home owner. It took multiple attempts to ge the job done right but they kept their word and did what we needed .
We discussed the points where we could have had better service and work and they apologized and made it right.
Our first PRoject manager was not the best with receiving criticism or comments about shoddy work, but our second and most skilled project manager should be the face of the company - Forrest was amazing. Ask for Forrest!
We chose the better paint, replaced some window trim and Facia board at a few spots.
Areas to ask to be mindful of that we didn't revive proper care at the start: covering up the gardens (we found allot of dangerous items like razor blades, nails, glue scraps, wood splinters on play areas), removing old sealant, scraping, pressure washing thoroughly, and clean up.
I suggest walk through quickly after they finish, hit the obvious things and then do a second walk through in different lighting to see the things you or spouse didn't see. It's amazing how many details go o to painting an exterior.
Cheap isn't always best, ask for points along the paint job to share your opinion of work before they finish the whole project.
Good company overall, young but diligent and willing to make things right.
At the end of the day my house looks great.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Vicki W.Cedar Park, TX0137Apr 15, 2021
So disappointed in this company. I will say the paint job itself turned out fine. And I chose this company because they were speedy to respond and also gave me the best quote. And they had good online reviews. However, as they say, you get what you pay for and maybe that cheapest quote is where I went wrong. This is a an empty rental unit so nobody was there when the job was done but I did meet with Forest in person for the quote and also I did stop by mid day to check the progress of the job and all looked well. I was so upset to go back the next day after the job was finished and find that they had unplugged the refrigerator and left it unplugged. I did have food in there that I had to throw out. The most disgusting and disrespectful thing of all was the drops of urine left on the toilet seat. I was so mad that this person didn't clean up after himself but actually thank you for leaving the signs so that I would know to disinfect it after. When I met with Forest for the quote he did not tell me to remove curtain, curtain rods or mini blinds, or I would have done it with care. The person that took them down threw them in a wad on the floor and did not put them back up. In one of the bedrooms there was a set of closet doors leaning against the wall, as well as a cupboard door. It would be fine if they were laid in the floor, but easy to tell they were thrown because of the damage. And there is a dusty footprint on each (see photos). Just so hard to believe how poorly they treated my property. And the communications after the job were not great either. Would not recommend this company.

We needed our whole house repainted, and got estimates from about 5 different painting companies. Josh from Hill Country Painting quoted our job, and while it wasn't the least expensive quote we were sold on the fact that once started the painters would stay on our job through it's completion. Other companies have pulled their employees to do touch-ups etc., taking them off your job to finish someone else's. Eric, the project manager was communicative during the process (taking pictures of the work as it progressed). Upon completion a few touch ups were required, but all in all a very professional job that we are very pleased with. After seeing how great their crew of painters made our interior look, we contracted them to paint the house exterior! A really positive experience-I highly recommend Hill Country Painting.

Got a quote to stain a front door. After they started and we changed the color, was told that it would be extra to do both sides. But quote was to stain a door, period. Paid an incredible price to stain both sides to make them match. Didn't honor their quote and put me a position where I had to pay to make both sides match or get someone else to try and match. I would recommend not using them as I question their integrity.

We recently had our exterior of our house painted by Hill Country Painting. We have 3 stories in the back as it is a downslope lot. They're crew handled that height with no problems. They did a wonderful job. They finished within their specified time frame and original estimate. They were very reasonably priced. Their crews worked very hard and stayed late a few evenings to get get the project done on time. Justin, the project manager visited our project everyday to ensure things were going as planned and to check in with me to provide status updates.
They also helped us with a couple of small interior painting projects, including vanity cabinets. They did great work on the inside as well.
I would recommend them to anyone. Certainly include them in your bid process.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kerry T.Scofield Farms, Austin, TX06Mar 25, 2022
Came in and picked up the work abandoned by a previous bad contractor. Put up hardy board siding on one side of house and painted trim all around. Did some extra painting and woodwork on eves at no extra charge. Foreman was both friendly and professional. Work was done in a matter of days, along with excellent cleanup. No damage or overspray. The siding was installed expertly and included an inner barrier. They were willing to use materials on hand.
