My daughter, along with her father and me, had a lovely experience shopping for a bridal gown at House of Brides. Maggie is so sweet, professional and knowledgeable. We felt comfortable in the private, charming atmosphere of the boutique, and found the perfect dress. We shall take it in for alterations closer to the wedding in 6 months.

If I could go back into time and dress shop here, I would. Actually, I came home and told my husband that I wish that we'd be able to get married again, so Maggie could help me!

I came here with the help of yelp. My friend is getting married. Within minutes, Maggie had pulled the dresses, hearing the needs of the bride to be .. and respected all of it throughout. She was understanding, accomodating, and really sweet. She's a native Torrance lady, so I appreciate that as well. The small business vibe touched my heart.

I'd recommend it here without a doubt. Anyone who is thinking twice is obviously not reading all the positive and awesome reviews. You're really wasting your time going else where.

Maggie is the best seamstress I have ever seen. She transformed my mother-of-the-bride dress until it fit perfectly. She is amazing and such a pleasant and sweet woman. I recommend House if Brides 110%

We first met Maggie 11 years ago when she did alterations to my daughter's Assembly ball gown. She did a fantastic job then.
Fast forward about a month ago, my daughter and I went back and had our dresses altered (she with her wedding gown, mine my Mother of the Bride dress) and Maggie was the absolute best! She did such a great job with the alterations with great attention to detail, with such excellent craftsmanship. She has a natural gift and knew exactly what to do with our dresses, which ended up fitting perfectly.
Maggie always has a smile on her face, is always so pleasant and accommodating. On our second dress fitting, we were stuck in traffic and late 40 minutes to our appointment. Anyone else would have cancelled our appointment but Maggie still took us in without any complaints, and worked with us past her closing time.
I highly recommend Maggie to anyone needing wedding dress and formal gown alterations. She is the best at her craft

I got married October 1st, 2022 and needed to look for a wedding dress that I would feel beautiful in. I went to many different places but couldn't find the one until I went to the House of Brides & Tuxedo. Maggie who is the owner is such an amazing lovely person she made me feel super comfortable and really helped me capture the experience of wedding dress shopping. I told her my vision and she handed me the most beautiful wedding dress and had me try it on and when she placed the veil on me I instantly fell in love! And not only do they have the most beautiful dresses they have the best prices! 100/10 would most definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone who's looking for THAT dress.

Maggie help me design my vintage silhouette wedding dress! She saw my vision and similar to my mother's vintage dress, unfortunately my mothers dress was damaged so I couldn't used it but, Maggie made it happen! Just the way, I picture it, so beautiful and gorgeous! Just FYI, Maggie does not customize dresses but, since she had the material and the dress, that she can work on. She said she will do it for me! I have the before and after picture. Thank you again, Maggie, you where my Angel!! She really made this dress to a vintage silhouette wedding dress! Had so many compliments, on my beautiful dress! It was rare to see a dress like mine a vintage silhouette wedding dress. I was really blessed that, I found Maggie, she was so kind and so sweet to make my beautiful dress! I highly recommend going to The house of brides and see Maggie, and all her wedding gowns!

Ms. Maggie is the best!! I purchased my dress from a different shop, however their price for alterations was extremely high and well over my budget. I decided to take my dress to House of Brides to get a quote on alterations and Ms. Maggie was able to complete my alterations for half the price and with limited time. I was grateful to have found Ms. Maggie, she was heaven sent.

My mom and I was actually planning to go to 2 different bridal stores in Torrance and this store was one of them. Unfortunately, this store was going to open at 11; therefore, we thought of going to the other one first. But for some reason, I felt I needed to wait for this shop to open and I had to go here. I am soooooo glad I did! In my opinion, I feel like it was meant to be (with my instinct and with God guidance!) because I found a dress!!! I actually had a dress already; however, it did not meet my expectations. It was a cute dress; however, I believe I was rushed to get that dress by the consultant. In other words, I did not have the bridal moment when I wore that dress because I didn't even say YES to it. When I saw the dress at this particular store, I DEFINITELY felt that bridal moment! I did try 2 dresses before it; however, third one was the charm!!

Ms Maggie is the BEST person ever! She was an AWESOME store owner & consultant! I told her what I was looking for and she gave me ideas and showed me examples.

I appreciate what she did to help me out and made me feel like a very important person! When we got to the store, it was noisy and under construction; however, she still helped me out 100%! I'm also appreciative that she was caring about me being on a budget on my upcoming November wedding! What she told me, "if your happy, I'm happy!" Made me feel that going to her store first was the right thing to do!!

Overall, I found the PERFECT dress there and I would like to thank Ms Maggie for that!

Amazing!!! I was recommended this place by a friend and it did not disappoint. Maggie was a very nice lady who got both me and my best friend comfortable, affordable, and good looking suits in a bit of a time pinch. I would gladly be a reoccurring customer here for any of my suit needs.
