Poor communication and stressful process. I was stuck into a ridiculous payment amount and I continuously let Adam and Ashley know but nothing was ever done. Even now, I got another email from this firm and told them my issues and got nothing but a "brush off" response.
There are better firms out there who will actually care about you and not just another case to get through the queue.

Adam helped me settle a debt collection. While it did cost a bit more then initially quoted, and I wasn't updated along the way as often as I would have liked, Adam did get me a settlement I was happy with.

I was referred to this firm by my sister and I was very happy with my decision. They were compassionate and seemed to really care about my case. Adam Easter was my attorney and I'm glad to see he made partner as he was excellent.

Sherri Walton was my attorney for many years. She was wonderful to work with on the several divorce decree modifications my ex-husband brought, but our real trouble started when he challenged me for custody of the children. Sherri struggled greatly navigating issues with custody. After spending tens of thousands of dollars over three years, I hired a new attorney who settled our case in four months at a fraction of the cost. While Sherri did great work on parts of our case, she seemed overly influenced by the opinions of others and it got to the point it felt like we were just catering to the other side. My new attorney took a much different stance, and as a result, things changed very rapidly. I worry that if I had stayed with Sherri, in the best case, I would have spent exponentially more money in the long run, and in the worst case, I would have lost custody of my children. Bottom line: if you have a basic divorce or modification, Sherri is probably fine. If it's your children on the line, you deserve better representation.
Update July 2021, in response to comment left below:
Hi Diana,
Thank you for your reply, it was unexpected and appreciated.
You mentioned Sherri was known for being knowledgeable and fighting hard for what is important to her clients. Unfortunately, that was not our experience with her work in our custody case.
I am pleased with the results our new attorney was able to obtain in a very short amount of time (4 months!) without giving in on issues.
Had we run into some of the same complications we experienced with Sherri with our second attorney, I could have more easily felt like the complications of our case were insurmountable. However, watching the ease and efficiency these issues were navigated with a new attorney proved the hunch we had been developing- Sherri had lost heart in our case. I truly believe staying with Sherri would have eventually led to losing custody of my daughters. It saddens me that we were ever in that position, and my hope in writing this review was to help other vulnerable parents know that they (and their children) deserve better representation and advocacy in complex custody cases.
Take care,
JenHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

Dear Jen:
Sherri asked me to please send you the following message, related to your Yelp review:
Jen, it was my privilege to be your attorney for six years. You and your children are so important to me! I am grateful you were able to negotiate an agreement you could accept and appreciate how difficult your ex-husband's latest challenge to custody was on you and the children. It is a relief that you can now move forward! I am always available to discuss any issues you may have and look forward to visiting with you again.
Take care, Sherri
On behalf of the firm, I am sorry you were frustrated with your case. I do know Sherri thought the world of you and did everything in her power to help you. I also know Sherri is an excellent, knowledgeable family law attorney, who fights hard for her clients and is extremely experienced in handling custody cases. At times, another attorney might be able to resolve such a case faster, but only by giving in on issues. Sherri fights for what is important to her clients. I hope you did not have to settle for less than what Sherri was seeking to obtain for you, in order to resolve your case.
Regardless, I am pleased you have now reached a resolution and can move forward with your life!
Best wishes!
Sincerely,
Diana J. Huntsman

The lawyer I dealt with is the reason we are warned about lawyers. I expected there to be a fairly expensive bill, and I was fine with that as long as I received good work. However, after two months of not getting anything from him I decided to consult with a different firm (who, by the way, gave me everything I needed in less than 48 hours).
So, after I decided to wash my hands of these guys I received an invoice. I was mostly unable to get in touch with with the lawyer the entire two months, in fact there was a point near the end where I called at least four times in two weeks, as well as emailing, without ever hearing back from anyone. The service I thought I was paying for nonexistent and on top of that I learned that I was getting charged for him having to listen to voicemails and read emails from me that he never even returned.
After having to pay a hefty bill for someone to listen to my voicemail and read my emails, I say continue in your search for a decent law firm.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1Business owner information

Dear Brandi:
I ran across your review on Yelp today and wanted to reach out to you. I am sorry you were unhappy with the services our firm provided to you!!
In reviewing your account, though, it does appear to me that James was quite responsive. He spent about three hours of time providing legal advice, discussing taxation issues for an LLC, researching safety recalls, discussing business formation options, helping you prepare a safety checklist, etc. He also spoke with you a number of times (1/27/2016; 1/29/2016; 2/3/2016; 2/4/2016; 2/8/2016) and emailed you at least twice (2/24/2016 and 3/8/2016). He did this work despite the fact we had not yet received a retainer, which is our typical practice. Rather, he went ahead and tried to help you, first, before worrying about the money. Finally, your bill was $490, which I suggest is low for 3 hours of attorney time.
That being said, I hate knowing that a client is unhappy with the work our firm did!! Is there some way we can make the situation feel more fair to you, now? If so, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Diana J. Huntsman

I called and had a few questions for James. I found his advice to be accurate as well as insightful. It is nice when you get an attorney who is willing to be so helpful. These guys are great and I think they are a very top notch firm.

I have been working closely with Huntsman/Lofgran for the last 6 years. They have been wonderful helping us navigate our tax issues and our bankruptcy case. They are very thorough, attentive, and understanding. From every email question to phone call, they have been right there to help us through it all. Sandy Carpenter specifically was a huge help, especially the last year of our case. Patient, kind, and helpful with all my questions and concerns. I highly recommend their services.

In an ineffective effort to obtain physical custody of my 8 month old daughter from her grandparents and incarcerated mother with another attorney, I was referred to Diana Huntsman through a third party firm. I expected to be handed down to a junior associate, with high hopes of making headway. Diana handled my custody case personally, not only against one defendant, but two petitioners that entered in part way through the course of the case. She, as well as her associates and staff, are extremely thorough, thoughtful, and professional. They prepared for hearings in such a manner that every way the hearings could have turned out was thought through and braced for. I truly felt that I had an advocate by my side, supporting what I wanted. Throughout the process Diana was thoughtful enough to even call after hours and offer support. I see comments on this firm regarding price. Can you really put a price on your children, safety, love, and peace of mind? Looking every day at my now 4 year old daughter that is safe, loved, and most of all happy I know my answer. There is no better firm, and no better family law attorney than Diana Huntsman.
