IL Gelato Hawai'i is an authentic Italian style gelateria (gelato retail) serving gourmet gelato and creamy, smooth and non-fat sorbetto. Our gelato is natural, local and authentic and made fresh daily on Oahu. We do not use and artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Our flavors are Hawaiian, Asian, and classic Italian. IL Gelato Hawaii in Kahala is an Italian style gelato bar, serving "coppas" variations of Italian sundaes (Coppas) , waffles, Panini, Italian coffee drinks and other drink specialties. IL Gelato is part of the Gelato Team USA and participates at the Gelato World Championships representing the United States.

Love coming here with my girlfriend to hang out. The kiosk is clean and quaint and a nice place to chill and not feel rushed.
Coffee and the vegetarian panini is always a treat, fresh and hot!
I also appreciate the rotation of seasonal gelato flavors and the little crisp waffle topper.
The staff as well as the manager, Aiden always greets us with a smile and with great service! He really adds sunshine to the day!!

I've been hanging out at Il Gelato a little over a year now. When I sit down for a cup of coffee, it's served to me in a real mug with real cream, not milk - what a plus. The paninis are delicious and served with a small salad. They're also well priced. In any case, the best part of hanging out at Il Gelato is that Aidan, the manager is always so welcoming and attentive. He makes me feel like a rock star. He has such a good rapport with everyone who stops by. This place is lucky to have him. He's so genuine & wants what's best for his kiosk and their customers. Yay Aidan!

So glad that IL Gelato is here. It offers creamy gelato, hearty sandwiches, sweet goodies, and hard working Aidan. Aidan is magnanimous and greets customers with a huge smile and conviviality, even when swamped with customers, thus making the sometimes short wait for orders comfortable and worth the time!

Their mint chocolate chip gelato is hands down the best!! I've been to Italy, tried a ton of gelato places, and I still prefer the mint chocolate chip gelato here, at Il Gelato cafe! It's SO good! I always call to check that they have it available because they do rotate their flavors.
Aiden, Mr Aloha, always makes us feel so welcomed when we come. He is another big reason why I don't want to get ice cream or gelato anywhere else...he's just so sweet and doesn't food taste better when you're getting amazing service?!? I ordered the 4 scoop gelato in a waffle bowl . The manager who assisted me told me it was 8.75 + 1 (waffle bowl). I paid but then later found they had charged an extra $1 that was not advertised. I tried to explain the situation and she was adamant in saying that $8.75+$1+0.50tax=$11.25.
Instead of explaining how the extra dollar was added to my bill, she got defensive and kept saying that was just the tax, do you want a refund, and acted like they lost several customers cuz I took too long making my selection after I only tried 2 flavors before ordering
The whole experience was extremely unprofessional! I will not be coming back!

Great customer service as although I sampled a lot of flavors they were more than willing to help and get me my options that I really wanted. Ended up going with a 4 scooper and man was that incredible. Mahalo to the staff here. Atmosphere here was great and I ended up eating there at the bar where they were more than happy to have me sit and talk story little bit.

It reminds of me of gelato parlors back in Germany. A comfortable place to sit, watch them make my order (so satisfying), and indulge myself with fabulous gelato. I LOVE the service every time I am there. They are professional, kind, happy, courteous, and fabulous service. Once in a while they have seasonal flavors BUT wish they were regular flavors like pumpkin cheesecake and Thai ice tea. I hope they come up with licorice. Had it once in Toronto many many years ago....it was amazing and still think about it. Hint hint Il Gelato. Mahalos Aiden for the wonderful service. You never disappoint

It was super crowded but we got to relax, eat, watch, & enjoy. Great service. Waffles were delicious!

Been going here for years for paninis and gelatos. Until our recent last order; Firenze pollo panini had next to nothing in between the bread, and the Reuben was reduced to ONE slice of pastrami. I found myself eating two slices of focaccia bread! They've also raised the price on their gelatos. We will be looking for a new favorite spot.
