I really wanted to like this place. I saw it had good reviews and seemed trustworthy. I brought it a few times and had mediocre experiences, but it's so close to my house it was convenient. I had a maintenance light come on and I told them the problem and they charged me $56 just to tell me there wasn't a problem which still shows up as an issue on my car maintenance listing. I brought it in for an oil change and tire rotation not long ago and they tightened my valve stems way too tight. This last time I brought it in they went to add air into my tires and said they couldn't get it off which I knew they couldn't as I've asked places like belle tire to try and get it off so I could add air. When I told them it was their fault they said they could try and get it off but they'd most likely end up having to replace the valve stem since it would break and it would be $90 to fix. It's pretty ridiculous that they would make me pay for something they messed up. I took it else and got 3 for $60 since they messed up 3, but Jamestown only told me it was the one. Never taking my car back here again. Way too overpriced when I can get it substantially cheaper elsewhere.

I have nothing but good things to say about my brief encounter with the owner and office manager at Jamestown Automotive. The customer service was great and the repairs were done quick and accurately! My truck was finished well before estimated - same day instead of next day. The loaner I was given was clean and very convenient. They are a little out of my way, location wise, but would definitely consider going back!

I had to stop in due to running over some kind of hook and my tire was going flat pretty quick. This was at closing time and they said they would be able to get it patched first thing in the morning and then I could come pick it up. I was impressed by them being able to work so quick and help me out. Then the next day when I went to pick it up the girl at the front handed me a sheet of items that should be repaired.... I didn't feel like she was pressuring me to get things done right now but I did see some concern with the items she told me. She had a list of items that were wrong with my car.... Among them, they said I needed to replace my two front tires, my oil was leaking, and my transmission fluid was leaking. They wouldn't know that I regularly bring my car to Barber Ford in Holland and had just had a multipoint inspection in the last month. They also wouldn't know that I just bought new tires less than 6 months ago. It seems to me that perhaps they were throwing things at me to "fix" just to try and get money out of me. I was not impressed at all after seeing this. I know that small businesses have to try and compete with everything but making things up just to get you to spend money seems low. It appears that the work they do is probably okay but they are a little shady to their customers and try and get you to "fix" things or replace things that are not an issue.
I would say they do good work on your vehicle but I would get a second opinion before believing them.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
