Got stranded while on an out-of-town trip with a busted water pump. These guys had me in the shop and fixed within hours. Not days, or weeks, but hours. Even let me borrow a loaner car because I was in a jam. Probably the best customer service I've ever experienced in any genre of service. They also warned me of some other potential mechanical issues that may be developing, but in no way tried to force other repairs on me...said it could wait until I got back home.
Price for the new water pump was under what I should have paid.
I even saw the staff hugging another lady on my way out the door due to her being so thankful for these guys.
Unreal mechanics and customer service...you can't go wrong!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Angelique G.Davenport, IA1151Feb 11, 2019
When I moved out to the QC 3 years ago I was worried about finding a trustworthy mechanic. A friend referred me to Jim and I've been relying on him ever since! We have 2 older jeeps and I'm kind of paranoid about our vehicle maintenance. Jim is super patient, checking every light and strange sound I report that comes from our SUVs. He keeps us road safe and is honest about what needs to be taken care of right away or what we can push off without endangering ourselves or other drivers on the road.
His prices are totally fair, he explains exactly what's going on with our vehicles, and his staff are flexible, upbeat, and caring. I trust them completely with our vehicles and I love supporting small local business. I'd recommend Jim Whan and his staff to anyone!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eileen R.Sugar Grove, IL08Mar 28, 2018First to Review
I had a wonderful experience at Jim Whan's! Unlike other mechanics in the area, Jim Whan's is honest and upfront about costs and did not pressure me into having more work done than I needed. The price was very reasonable and the work was done very quick, I had three belts replaced in about 1 hour when they originally said it would be closer to 1.5. Very pleased with the service here, will definitely return if I need more work done!

Well there's a first! I left this place CRYING! Can you even believe that? I went first to the dealer and they told me my air-conditioner would be $2500 to fix. So I called around. Talked to a guy at Bi State who said it would be much cheaper there however I could also cap off the back air-conditioning for just $300 including the recharge. So I thought I'll call Jim to see how much he would charge for that or the repair. I spoke to Mike. Mike told me rough estimate Under $200 Including recharge. He also said just come on in and we'll diagnose it no charge because I think that the dealer is telling you you need additional things replaced that you don't need. The rear lines are never bad. So I go in and there stand Jim and Mike. Jim tells me this job is going to be almost $400 just for the cap off and recharge. He also tells me that diagnosis isn't really no charge. Mike has only been doing the job for three weeks and doesn't know. This is a great teaching moment for him. So I begin to explain how frustrated I am and how things didn't exactly go well the last time I was here. I explain to Jim that the last time I was here it was a thermostat problem but nobody wanted to fix the thermostat and that's why ended up at the dealer who ultimately did diagnose and fix the problem. Jim then says that the problem was not the thermostat but that I had to come back to have a power outlet fixed. I explain that that is not What the issue was although that happened and he seems to not be listening to me and being contrary. He also repeatedly states that I'm price shopping and that I don't care who does the work I just want the lowest price. As if I don't know what happened with my own van. Finally he begins to try playing my husband Against me in this without his consent while he's standing right there. That's when I left. I will not be back. I don't appreciate someone who not only doesn't stand by what they quote but also attempts to belittle customers in some pissing match in front of other customers. So now I was late for work after standing there crying mistreated by Jim Whan!! The great salesman!
