Called the office to make an appointment.
Was able to squeeze me in early morning.
I was seen on time.
Friendly staff all around.
Highly recommend if you need a new dentist.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 22, 2016
I have been a patient of Dr. Heaney since 1987. Dr. Heaney and his fine professional staff, have been outstanding in every detail. They are very accommodating and are always available day or night. They are caring and very kid friendly. My family and I feel right at home .

Dr. Heaney is thorough, honest and extremely friendly and professional. I am shocked at these poor reviews. The front office girls are very adept with the insurance companies, and there are no hidden surprises. I have been a patient for almost 20 years, and all of my coworkers see him as well.

I have been going to Dr Heaney since 1985. He is professional, extremely knowledge and always kind and helpful. His office staff is excellent as well. I have recommended many people to his office who are extremely happy as well. I highly recommend him and how anyone could say anything negative about him is very sad as he doesn't deserve it.

Very disappointed after years of being a patient. Dr. H explained to me I needed cavities filled after he found them while doing a cleaning. I made 2 appointments to get them filled. At the END of the first cavity appointment on my way OUT the secretary told me to "check my insurance because it looks like my cleaning a few weeks ago wasn't covered" so wait this means my cleaning AND the extensive cavity work just done (???) Turns out, I got a full time job before I turned 23 so I was bumped off my parent's insurance and didn't know.....but the point of all this is that they realized my cleaning was going to have to be paid out of pocket WEEKS before the extensive appointment in which they waited to mention it until AFTER I got it done (despite waiting in the waiting room 3 feet from the secretary) so I now owe the TWO visits out of pocket.....full disclosure: they took some $$ off the cleaning because of this, but I still owe them well over $1500. I sent them a certified letter to express my disappointment and they replied by saying I was actually the one rushing these appointments because I had a summer trip planned. WRONG. They asked me what I was doing for the summer mid appointment to be nice and I told them about an upcoming service trip, had no idea small talk would be used against me... disgusted and disappointed after years of being a patient. Nice that they took some $$ off but honestly more shocked by the dishonestly and the principal of all of this. Patients beware

No need to go to this conceited, condescending "dentist" whose skill has seen much better days. Don`t ask about the work he is doing on your mouth because he just rolls his eyes to his assistant who then rolls her eyes as if to say "listen to what this stupid patient is asking". After he gave me two new crowns, my bite was off...by a long shot. I asked him why that would happen and he said "Maybe your jaw moved since I took the impression"...a very unpleasant little guy. His office staff was unable to submit to our carrier because of a glaring lack of knowledge in how to complete such a simple task. It took them a year to actually get it resolved. The level of this man`s ineptitude combined with his unwillingness to correct the alignment of the crowns caused me to go to another dentist where I had to pay $3,200.00 out of pocket. Insurance would not cover it because I had already reached my limit for the year. For a Dentist working out of his dingy little home office in Hackensack, where getting mugged on the sidewalk is a very real possibility, he should seriously contemplate giving up his license...before the state takes it away from him... Now that would be justice...

All I can say is beware of insurance issues. The only insurance they are in network with is Delta Dental. My husband made an appointment as a new patient and asked the recptionist if they are in network with Aetna. The receptionist looked up our plan and told him "your plan will cover routine dental work at 100%." A large bill was later sent to us for out of network expenses. When I called the office to question the bill (spoke with Maria), they said, "yes, we take Aetna but we are not in network with them." I informed her that the receptionist took the time to look up our specific plan and reassured us "we will be covered at 100%." Her reply was, "yes, but that doesn't cover OUR fees." I understand that as the patient, I am ultimately responsible for the bill...but I feel their office was very misleading. Why would anyone WANT to be left with a bill when you can receive the same services for free (especially as a new patient that has no ties to a particular dentist)? Mostly, I am bothered that their office refused to acknowledge the possibility of any miscommunication on their part. Too many healthcare providers are concerned with getting your business rather than customer satisfaction. We will not be returning.
