L'Antic Forn

Antiguamente era un horno, de ahí su nombre "antic forn". Recuerdo que una noche cenando, uno de sus camareros nos ofreció visitarlo, porque todavía lo conservan. Me encantan los lugares con historia y este es uno de ellos, sobre todo cuando te lo transmiten con entusiasmo.

Siempre había pensado que este era un restaurante selecto, de esos de "mírame pero no se te ocurra entrar que te pegarán una clavada". Pues no es así. Este elegante lugar está al alcance de los bolsillos de muchos mileuristas. Al mediodía los menús cuestan 11 € y son de muy buena calidad.

Están especializados en cocinar a la brasa y en "calçotades", esta tradición típica catalana de comer una especie de cebolla larga con una salsa exquisita preparada a base de frutos secos, tomates confitados y ajo que te hará chuparte los dedos, sin poder librarte si estás comiendo calçots. En general, preparan todo tipo de comida catalana y tienen menús cerrados para grupos que van de los 20 a los 24€. Cenar por la noche es también muy asequible: 14'90€.

Authentic Mediterranean cuisine to its finest. If you closed your eyes while eating their grilled vegetables dish, it felt like you were at La Fontana di Trevi. Their Cava sangria was simply amazing. The homemade zucchini ravioli were phenomenal. And, let's just say there was the shape of a smile left on the plate after the Sole special was finished. It is somewhat of a little hole in the wall that one should not miss out on. The service always has a smile on their face and do not push you out the door.

That day,we found a wonderful little restaurant with an nice atmosphere to have a dinner for two. We were a bit late (22.00h), thats why we got a good table in the main room of the restaurant, that is splitted into two levels. Waitress was very friendly and the variety of food is good. We ordered fish and this was perfect cooked.
Recognized only foreign people and no spanish guests. Prices are moderate.

Fantastic! It is located on a small side street off of Los Rambles. The atmosphere is tremendous, we sat outside and it was perfect. The food and the service was first class. It is definitely worth stopping by to enjoy the atmosphere and the food.
