Pedicure virginity: TAKEN.
So we decided to get and pedicures over the weekend and I had never been. Boyfriend and his parents go all of the time together and his Dad especially loves them. I figured, I am on my feet all of the time like his dad, and my feet are pretty busted - maybe I need to give in and try it out. I have had a manicure before - not a fan. I bite my nails just fine. Ha!
We looked at a couple of places closer to home on Yelp, but they seemed more expensive with their a la carte and package deals, and Lobo is where boyfriend and his family always go so we went with the tried and true.
I was really pleased with the shop, nothing spectacular and high end, but I didn't expect that. if I was going to have a whole spa day, sure I may expect more, but this was some routine maintenance right? Perfectly suited for the need. The place was clean, chairs were comfortable, and everyone was super friendly.
We got the deluxe pedi package and added on some extras, but we had the sugar scrub with massage, lotion massage, hot stones, and a nail buff.
They were pretty busy with what seemed like a lot of regulars, that's a good sign. Every single tech i saw was either on someone's hands or feet working away.
They had a couple of TV's on with football playing (Sunday afternoon, so yeah) and that made it interesting to me - having a pedicure while watching football. Can I get a beer?
Anywho, we will drive the extra distance to come back here, I like me some Lobo!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tatum C.Ahwatukee Foothills Village, Phoenix, AZ01Apr 18, 2024
Would not recommend going here for a pedicure, my tech noticed I was ticklish a little bit and skipped the entire pedicure and just went straight to painting my nails. I got a scrub and hot rocks and that's about it. Before that as they were prepping my toes, she pulled an ingrown out which I don't think you're supposed to do at a nail salon.. it hurt so bad the tech kept going and pulled it out. It is now infected so I don't think sanitary measures are taken. My toe is so sore and inflamed now I can't walk.
Manicure was alright I had press on nails and the tech seemed annoyed by that and pryed them off with his bare fingernails and then used an acrylic tip to pry off more. This hurt terribly bad and then my nails were filed down so paper thin.
The entire manicure and pedicure was a non relaxing painful experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christina V.El Mirage, AZ012Dec 20, 2023
Nail tech agreed she could do what I asked for but in the end couldn't. When I asked her to fix it she became upset and I had to tell her out loud not to get mad. The manager then came later to try to fix and he couldn't either. Picture attached is the end result

I come here often and usually have a decent experience, but my usual lady wasn't there today and I was with a tech named Julie instead. When I came in, I put what I wanted on the iPad when signing in, and I did NOT have acrylics selected. My toes look fine and I like the color I picked out, but when going to do my nails, I told the nail tech I wanted dip powder, and for my nails to be trimmed just a bit shorter than they were when I walked in, and that I like my nails squared out a bit and rounded at the edges so they aren't sharp. She then quickly cut my nails all the way to the nub, not even with an actual nail clipper, but a cuticle clipper. I was so confused why she'd cut them that short, but then she quickly pulled out the acrylics box and it hit me that she just butchered my nails to the nub because she assumed that I was getting acrylics when I wasn't, without asking me or checking what I selected when I signed in at the front. I then corrected her and told her I wasn't getting acrylics, and by that point the damage had already been done.
They gave me a discount at the front but I don't think they should've charged me for the manicure at all and they should've made some kind of an effort for me to come back and fix it when my nails do grow out.
The shortest nail I came in with is now my longest, my nails hurt, especially my thumb, I can see my nail bud on a few of them, and I have never seen my nails this short. I thought maybe it was my mistake and I'd accidentally selected acrylics when I signed in, but I double checked when I was paying at the end, and sure enough I did not select them. It's really sad because I got these done for a formal I have coming up, and now they just hurt and don't look nice.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kendra R.West Glen Community Association, Glendale, AZ7103Oct 28, 2023
So disappointing, again. My daughters and I will not be going back to either location. Bailee did a full set. Rushed and they look horrible. Charging $65 for this mess is just a slap in the face. I work very hard for my money and expect good service. You won't get that here. I would avoid this place all together as this has been my experience more than once. Tried someone else and same result. And they upped their prices for crappier service. Buyer beware

Very disappointed with this nail shop right now , I scheduled my appointment last night it got confirmed this morning at 9am , just to get another text saying tht it was cancelled because they were busy at the time I set at 11am , I don't understand how you are going to confirm just to cancel.

I have booked an appointment online at Lobo Nails and Spa2 5 times. 3 out of those 5 times I was pawned off on someone else to do my nails. The whole point of making an appointment is to go to one person that you know what to expect when you get your nails done. I even asked the guy to build up my nail more, and he still couldn't get it right. Time to find a new place-

If zero stars was available, that's what I would give.
I asked for a completely new set of dip nails. The tech put new tips on my left hand and said that my right didn't need them. She did a horrible job on the length, they are all different. The shapes don't match, some are rounded and some are square. She didn't get the whole nail with powder on some. I got matte finish and you can tell they are not smooth and see divets all over.
When I paid, I was charged for a full set of dip, when in reality it was one hand. I said something and was told "Have a nice day".
Now my daughters full set turned out amazing, thanks to Bryce.
I personally won't return.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jessica B.Glendale, AZ18101Jun 11, 2023
This place is so unfriendly. And during my pedicure Mya cut my heel so bad it's hard to walk. I highly recommend staying away from this place. In fact my heel is so red from today with the cut it may be infected. Definitely not going back.
