I see that my review,from 2 years ago,"disappeared".
This company shouldn't be in business.
Paid an outrageous amount of money,
(I was desperate,to have this wallpaper removed)
& the so-called "work" that was done,by the owner,
had to be totally re-done,by an actual professional.
Horrible,shoddy "work".

Mario Rodriguez responded very quickly to my request for quote on our ceiling that was recently damaged by a leak in the upstairs neighbor's unit. Within a few hours I received a quote, placed a deposit and the work was completed in two days. The ceiling looks great!

We hired Mario to strip and refinish our 2 story deck. First He did not want to put his contract in writing. My husband essentially begged him to put it in writing. He wanted to go with a handshake. When we gave the deposit, my husband had to write his own receipt. He said he would be at the job between 7:30 and 8:00. It was closer to 8:45. How do you work on a 2 story deck with no ladder? As Mario told my husband what he would do, it changed the day of the job. He would do what he originally said for the quoted price plus an additional $500.00. Never mind. (We should have sent him packing at this point) The 2 men power washed the deck with water only. They were there for 3 hours and started packing up to leave. I questioned Mario. He said he would be back the next day to finish getting the paint off by scrapping and and then paint. Wait. You can't paint dirty wood. He kept saying I needed to trust the process. No sorry. We need to do it right! He kept telling me HE was the painter I needed to trust him. OK. but I am not stupid. I do know how the "process" works! He also kept talking about a warranty. well, again, if things are done properly, we don't need to worry about a warranty! I told him we needed to either do it right or he needed to give me my money back and leave. We had to give him $200.00 before he started and $2000.00 while he was working. He walked away from both my husband and I. My husband offered to pay for his 3 hours of work. (inferior as there is still a ton of paint still on the deck). He asked for $1600.00 back. Mario has refused to give us our money back. He has done inferior work and has basically stolen money from us. His lack of customer service skills speak volumes.

Mario did wallpaper removal and repair, and then some painting. Initially though it was good, but upon closer look, there was wallpaper glue left everywhere, and the painting was sloppy. Decided not to follow-up on additional painting. When asked for deposit back (for work never started), he promised to return, but pocketed over $500. Fees were overpriced, but we were in a time crunch. Lesson learned. He talks a good game, but be very careful. I'd give zero stars if I could.
