Q:
We were there on a Saturday while we enjoyed the Salsa dance lessons I would like to know if you have regular DJ with different music other than Latin music?
A:
I was there on a Friday evening and they had a live band playing jazz and light rock. A bit sleepy if you ask me.

Okay the high ratings and reviews has me shook!?? It's like we all weren't even at the same restaurant.
I am giving two stars due to the fact that the restaurant was clean and our waiter was friendly (yet slow). He had a smile on his face and was happy to answer our questions, however once we got our food we didn't see him again for like twenty minutes and he took forever to bring us our check.
My friend and I came for lunch on a weekend (pre-covid take out only) right when they opened. We were the only ones there which felt strange but again, we knew we came right at opening due to an afternoon appointment. The eerie thing was we were here about an hour and no other customers showed up!!! Given that it was a weekend we knew something was off. Clear warning sign I guess.
I mentioned the server already. He was nice and attentive at the beginning but went MIA once food arrived. Weird to flag him down for a check when there were no other customers. He just seemed to hideout in the kitchen most of the time.
The drinks and food were really disheartening.
My watermelon margarita looked nothing like the pictures posted by the business. The business pictures show a vibrant red margarita with a fresh watermelon slice dangling over the edge. If you can see my attached picture, my "watermelon margarita" came out a light pink and with a lime wedge on the side. Not Instagram worthy at all! Hahaha.
The food was another "meh". We started with the taquitos for an appetizer and they were 3.5 stars. Flavor wasn't bad but they also were Lukewarm.
I ordered the lobster enchiladas and they were some of the worst I've ever had. The lighter sauce tasted watery and the rice was very boring - no flavor. Again this dish was also served lukewarm. What the heck?
I'll never be back. I'm sure my two stars is too generous given our experience but I always try to Look for something to compliment. The restaurant was clean and our server was nice. I really want to know what keeps y'all coming back because I just don't see it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 62277175Oct 31, 2020
I am so happy that we were able to find this wonderful restaurant that serves up fresh Mexican cuisine and offers extra large amount of patio seating outside. The good news is that chips and salsa come to every table and the fresh salsa is just the start to an amazing experience.
We had ordered in the past the ceviche. Very good. A little spicy.
Salmon tacos and chicken tacos. Wonderful.
Beans and rice that come with the taco plate are great.
Also the burrito pollo. Wow. What a great homemade red sauce and delicious tender chicken inside.
The margaritas are amazing. We have had watermelon and original. As well as strawberry and cucumber. All very good.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Djean D.Hawthorne, CA531521Sep 19, 2020
So we yelped our location and found this jewel and they did not disappoint. I had to try the watermelon margarita. The first picture on Yelp, delicious. Be sure to get it on the rocks. Refreshment with a kick in the pants. Not a drop kick but you know you're drinking alcohol. My girlfriend ordered the mole, mouth watering. The best I've ever stolen from her plate lol. I had the salmon tacos. They were tasty but the mole was the star by far.
The other start was Carlos, our server. Very pleasant with the right amount of attentiveness. He was close by and available each time we needed him.
The restaurant was clean and well maintained. I'd definitely recommend paying them a visit. Who knows we may drive up here from Chino Hills for another plate of the delicious mole. Yum!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 25, 2019Updated review
We loved this place. They had great service and everyone was so kind. The atmosphere was so pretty and inspired. They seemed to really embrace the Mexican style with everything from the menu to the beautiful plates. The burrito was made just to my mom's customization and it was super flavorful. Very generous size even for the hungriest customer. The cheese dip was DIVINE. We had both never tried something like that before. Everything was SUPER fresh and was high quality. It was so fun watching the guacamole being made in front of us and having the option of salt level and spicyness. Also, you must get the fresh tortillas, they are life changing! I feel they should bring them out with butter because that would take it to a whole othe

If I could give 3.5 stars I would. The food was decent for the price but there was just something missing. I think we must've misordered. The appetizers and drinks were absolutely delicious, our entrees were okay. The cheese dip and guac were perfect!!! And I loved the three complimentary salsas with the chips. Although I think the red sauce could've used some heat to it. My shrimp entree was cooked well but my cilantro rice was hard and undercooked. I would def give Mejico another chance. Plus, I need to try their watermelon margarita in the tequila lounge.
Ambience was great. Service was impeccable. Carlos is the man!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Kari R.Thousand Oaks, CA101927Apr 13, 2020
This place is amazing to host an event, celebration, party or have an evening out.
We checked out several places before deciding. The staff and Tony who really went above and beyond to answer all our questions and work with us made our choice easy.
The shower was beau and the food and staff did not disappoint. We cannot thank them enough for making our event so special.
We'll be back and spread the word.
Thank you so much.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maria C.Simi Valley, CA5146663Mar 8, 2020
Everything was on point for our first visit here.
We were in at an off meal hour, so was pretty quiet inside.
Food was unique and delicious,
Ambiance was beautiful and the music went perfectly and not so loud you couldn't talk.

This is not your typical "Mexican" food, But regional specialties as I see it, possibly with a twist.
Basket of chips came with two salsas, the salsa verde was so refreshing and light.
We ordered the grilled chicken and roasted vegetable salad served cold-amazing!!!
Very unique as I said, but delicious!
Also the Pollo en Mole
Omg delicious - I'd totally get that again, but would want to explore more of the menu next visit!
I see they have wine tasting second and fourth fridays.
The margarita choices are many and tequila choices vast.
There are some lovely patio areas too.
The staff we encountered were very accommodating and pleasant!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nick R.Calabasas, CA6866618Oct 10, 2020
This place was absolutely horrible. I have been to many restaurants since COVID and they have all been great to the best of their ability.
We got there and the bouncers were able to get us two tables fast, great. Our party was 6 people so they split us into two. Sat down at a table, we saw our waitress a total of TWO times. We look over and almost positive she was drunk as she was grabbing our friends nipples at the other table. You're probably reading this and thinking: what? Yeah you read what you read.
Anyways, they serve us the wrong food, and at the end she gave us our bill. Our bill was not itemized and it seemed as if it was more expensive than intended when we ordered according to the menu. We asked for an itemized bill which shouldn't be requested, got it and turns out she upselled our entire party on drinks we didn't even order.
I get that times can be stressful but you would think we would get an itemized bill.
The only thing good about this place was the DJ. I think his name was Holden. Amazing music, he's the only thing keeping this place alive.
Never coming here again, go and spend your money somewhere else.
P.S. I rarely write reviews so no, I'm not a Karen.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 4, 2020
Went here last night with our family to celebrate a birthday. They weren't busy when we got there at 5:30 its hard to figure out why so may things were wrong with our order. Two of us ordered skinny margaritas with a splash of watermelon juice. They tasted liked pure bitter lime juice... extetremly sour and we probably should have returned them. My husband ordered a margarita no salt however it came with salt. Ran out of chips and had to ask for more...it took about 10 min for our waiter to return. Husband ordered an asada burrito and they brought him chicken. Aside from all the misses with the food and drink the food quality was okay.. Not amazing but acceptable. What they do have going for them is a relaxing outdoor dining area with appropriate distancing between tables. If you go not expecting much you'll probably not be too disappointed.

A great local restaurant with charm, ambiance, great drinks and delicious food!
I ordered the house margarita. It was a great balance of strong and sweet.
Carne Asada - juicy, flavorful meat with house made tortillas. The dish came with a small quesadilla, a stuffed jalapeño, rice, guacamole, a
Smokey salsa and unusually delicious beans! Great meal.
For dessert we ordered a Torta de manzana. It was like rich bread pudding with a fruity blast. Delicious!
The staff was very nice and attentive. The ambiance was intimate and charming, but had a vibrance to it that will grow as more people come to discover it. We will definitely be back again!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
