Morris Park Inn

Found this gem when our truck was low on electrons. It's in a plaza flanked by a Carvel and a Dunkin. We really enjoyed the Calamari Twists. They were wonderfully seasoned and crispy. Tried the special, Lobster Tail Fra Diavolo, it had some bite! The spice was primarily in the pasta and sauce, the lobster was tender and flavorful. The other entree we tried was also a weekend special, the sliced Filet w/ Carmelized Onions. Here again, tender and flavorful. This was the first time we were here with the entire family and the kids got the MPI Burger and the Ribs. Both of those were gone before I could get a bite, but I speak from experience on the burger, it's a great one! And I got slapped away when I went for a scrap of rib. My guess; that's means it was awesome. Full bar so, we went for the IPA's.
Joe at the bar gets me my drinks for a reasonable price and I'm glad to pay it because I'd like this place to be around for a long time. Give it a try, I think you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

My friend and I decided to meet here for lunch. They had just opened this Thornwood location literally the day before. I arrived early and sat down at their outdoor tables , unfortunately steely they overlook the parking lot, but it works. It was a little to chilly so I moved inside. Once my friend arrived we ordered their chipotle chicken and bang bang shrimp tacos appetizers. Each order came with 3 tacos generously filled. My shrimp tacos were served hot and crunchy, I really enjoyed them. They were both topped with pico de gallo and guacamole. My friend must have enjoyed hers too, she ate all 3! The service was friendly and attentive. I would come back!

Not impressed. The Onion rings are ok. Being from a PR family the Rice and Gandules are not worth the price. I got the Cubano and I will say the little bit of roasted pork was good, but dry it had a sliver of ham (which upon tasting individually was spoiled) , a sliver of cheese and there were two little round (thin) pickles. When I looked at it, I said, well, fortunately I have some ham, more cheese, real pickles and I had mustard, which should be on a CUBANO. Sadly, I won't be getting anything there again. Worst Cubano I've ever had. Disappointing.

First time at Morris Park Inn of Thornwood. Food is excellent, friendly/hospitable service. John, our server was very nice. Place is cool inside. Prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be going back often as it's a great local/go to spot.

Today I went to MPI Thornwood and had a pleasant experience. They have a lunch special where people who dine in before 3pm get 15% off! They have weekly specials. Today, I had the Broccoli Cheddar Soup and the Country Fried Chicken. Eric, the chef, has gifted hands. The food came out amazing! The manager, Jenn, was also very sweet. She's also hot. Just saying. I highly recommend .

Katie is a great waitress as well. Not there every day. Sometimes she is at MPI in Bronx. Love it. Affordable

New place in thornwood. We have them a try a couple weeks back. The food was pretty good, but very slow service - over 30 mins for wings and burgers. In addition they had 'live music' playing that night which was both too loud (it's not a big place) and not talented enough to be considered 'ready for prime time'. The prices were on the high end for the menu. Might give them another shot in a couple months, and hopefully they've worked out the kinks, or I fear they won't be around long.

Great atmosphere, great beer, good crowd, and Joe was a great bartender! Great place to go to if you want to watch any sports game

Brand new spot in Thornwood. Great energy and good food. The staff seems excited to be there.
