I live in PA but came to spotsylvania to take care of some business and upon my arrival my vehicle began overheating. Following through on a recommendation from a friend I decided to contact mullens garage. They picked up my vehicle and fixed the issue. The pricing was pretty standard compared to other garages but when some complications arose after picking my vehicle up it seemed like the issue wasn't fixed at all. They arranged to have my vehicle towed back to the garage and fixed the issue for free the second time and I was able to drive back home to PA safely. Although I could sense everyone working there was pretty frustrated with the situation and the fact it was 90 degrees out, they remained respectful and upheld their professionalism. Would definitely recommend to others.

These guys are straight shooters and do a good job. They are helpful and friendly and have recommended against repairs where others have said they were necessary. Unfortunately this seems to be rare honesty for the auto repair industry these days. I would recommend taking your car there if you need any type of repair.

These guys are fast and honest, and were still capable of polite customer service, something I almost never come by in the auto repair industry. I'll definitely be bringing my car back for my needs.

Mullen's Garage does great work. They have worked on my Jeep and my Elantra. They always find the problem and fix it. There might be cheaper options but you get what you pay for. These guys know what they are doing and most importantly they are honest.

I have been dealing with this shop for many years. It's great when you can actually trust your mechanics.

How does a mechanic manage to make me, a new customer, feel like I'M wasting HIS time? I went to Mullens because I wanted to go to a locally owned place, feeling like they had a reputation to uphold. I told them that I had a number of issues to fix on my car including a check engine light and a misfire, but I wanted to start with the air conditioning which is a priority for me. Clearly, I'm going to be a repeat customer. Clearly, I have given this some thought.
Not an hour after dropping off my car I got a call, saying they couldn't fix my air conditioner. What? Why not? The stop-leak Freon recharge I put in a year and a half ago will break his $5k machine. Ok, fair enough, so what do we do? Nothing, come get your car. Nothing?
The guy just kept going back to his "$5000 machine" and how I needed to find someone "stupid enough" to do the job. Wow! I mean, obviously you don't want to break your machine, but don't you want a new customer? He was basically laughing in my face, nope, nope, too bad, go away.
This guy was 0% solutions focused. Come on, everything is fixable! Did he offer to tell me how much a new compressor would be? Or something? So you can't use your 5k machine, but seriously, over a year or 2 and a handful repairs, how much money could you have made off of me? Now, the answer is Zero Dollars.
If I were a business owner, I would have been very embarrassed to so flippantly dismiss a new customer in front of other paying customers. He clearly did not want my business at all. It was actually upsetting to be told to take a hike. Well, I guess that shows what you get when you look for quality, locally owned businesses. Maybe I'm not a member of their club? Anyway, don't go to Mullens looking for creative solutions, initiative to problem-solve, sympathetic customer service, or a welcoming atmosphere.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - J M.Spotsylvania, VA02Feb 9, 2016First to Review
These guys are great. My first visit they were terrific about communicating what the issue was and explaining my options in getting it addressed. After 5 plus years and first name basis they still treat me like a new customer whose repeat business they are trying to earn. They do a great job of telling me what they can do to help me save money while taking good care of my car...they do a great job of telling me both the short term and long term factors involved. Wes and his team are honest, attentive and more than competent.
