We couldn't be happier with Natomas School of Music! Everyone there is warm and kind and very supportive. Our 9 year old daughter has been taking guitar for about 6 months and she absolutely loves it. Mr. Luke is a great teacher and is very patient with her. He jokes about making her use the "dreaded" metronome a lot, but we love that she is learning to play with good rhythm from the very beginning.

Natomas School of music has a professional and kind staff, with a wide range of lesson times that work with kids/parents schedules. My son had drum lessons for 2 months here and we had an amazing experience. He is only 5 years old so he was a handful at times, but Mr. Demitri kept a good spirit and kept my son as focused as possible. He let him be a kid while also staying on task with his teachings. We stopped lessons only because my son decided it was something he did not want to continue, but I am hoping as he gets older he will want to rejoin.

I was a bit different kind of student...Was age 60 when diagnosed with Cancer (now 69, so I won) and friends gave me a copy of "The Bucket List" /Morgan Freeman-Jack Nicholson - two guys facing terminal Cancer running down the list of everything they ever wanted to do...so, I made my list. I had truly been blessed in life and had already been everywhere and done everything in life I ever wanted to do...except two things 1. Write and get paid for it and 2. Be in a Rock n Roll band.
I wrote a couple of things -and through a blog I got paid $50. Enough said...satisfied. Last thing: Be in a Rock band. Never played, but always loved the Electric Bass (can't hear very well...but you can 'feel' the Bass}.
Bought an old Fender Bass and called NSoM for my advertised "first free lesson". Met the owner 'Glen' - and was beyond fortunate, to get 'Norman' as my teacher. Superb professional session guitarist, many years in rock bands experience, as well as a college degree in music....patient, can play 'EVERY' instrument and you can't name a song he can't play.
At the time, I didn't know how much time I had left...so I asked for the fast track to learn my top 50 rock favorites...got decent enough to not be terribly embarrassed in public (well perhaps a couple of times-but that is part of the risk) . Norman built a band for me (I named "Another Day in Paradise Band) with him and other students as bandmates and we performed in public a few times. The best was a performance where my wife played keyboards. I played bass and my daughter and her friend sang 'House of the Rising Sun' for a huge crowd of maybe 30.

It was the absolute thrill of my life and a memory that can't be bought. List done. I win.
Most of the students at NSM are much, much, much younger...lucky them - they have learning an invaluable gift for their whole lives...but even old dogs can learn new tricks (or the Electric Bass).
If an old guy with zero experience facing down Cancer can benefit beyond his wildest dreams - what could you get out of the experience? DO NOT HESITATE. It will change your life. The experience changed mine and I will be eternally grateful.Helpful 7Thanks 1Love this 7Oh no 0 - Johmar G.Sacramento, CA253Aug 12, 2019
My daughter has been going to Natomas School of Music (NSM) since 2016. She has been playing piano since she was 3 and started taking voice since she turned 6. We love the administrators and faculty at NSM. They are absolutely professional and accommodating to our child's needs in learning and honing her musical talents. Mr. Kevin and Mr. Josh are standout instructors and are two of their best. We really appreciate how patient they are and how they understand to challenge her to give her best effort and to be better. NSM is absolutely awesome and would highly recommend it to those who want to learn to play an instrument or sing and most of all, have fun!!!!

After putting it off due to nervousness, I finally had an introductory voice lesson today!
Glenn, the owner, greeted me when I arrived. Kate was my instructor and the class was 30 minutes long. Kate made me feel very comfortable, and she accessed my skill level while working with it. I'm now deciding whether I want to continue with the classes due to my crazy schedule, but I'm definitely considering it! Both people I met were very welcoming and friendly.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shianne P.Sacramento, CA1544215Dec 2, 2019
I requested information for voice lessons for my daughter. They sent an email with a typed out response of the prices. When someone, Marian called to follow up I gave her some info about my daughter and my reasons as for why she'd like to be involved in singing/voice lessons her response was "no. She's 2? no" While not anywhere on the website or email did it state the ages required for any lessons. Taken back by her tone and HORRIBLE attitude absolutely awful tone she further began to tell me "well she's a toddler that's a little young don't you think? 5/6 at least" as she scoffs. Where I explained to her that this was not a way to conduct herself she talked over me as she hung up on me! She showed a terrible lack of professionalism and civility. At this point it doesn't matter that they don't have the skills to work with young children it's the complete disrespect towards a parent trying to cultivate my daughters passion. I would never enroll my child here in the future seeing the true colors up front of someone like her could seriously ruin a child's fire. I have made an attempt to contact the administrator but save your money or find a music school whose in it for the right reasons with great teachers- because of today's representation this isn't it!!!

I absolutely love NSM. The Instructors are very knowledgeable and skilled at their craft.
Glenn matched my daughter with a great guitar Instructor. The Instructor customized the lessons to integrate music she likes from current bands. My daughter is flourishing and has even taught me a few things.
Glenn is always present and available. He personally answers each and every call. Now THAT is quality customer service.
Pricing is reasonable. Honesty compared to the quality of training my daughter receives, it's a bargain. Scheduling is easy and flexible especially around the holidays.
With the added convenience of educational materials, music supplies and restringing all on site. Oh... AND NSM students get a discount at Skip's Music.
If music is truly where your passion is then this is the place for you.
Give Glenn a call and check it out of yourself. The first lesson is FREE.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alec C.Sacramento, CA07Jul 18, 2016

It does not get better than this! This is exactly how a music school should operate. Kind, patient, uplifting, encouraging, polite, understanding, friendly, and knowledgeable are just a few of the great things about this place. Five Stars!!!
