This is a great little cafe in Islington/Angel. It's in Chapel Market, which on the Saturday afternoon I arrived looked a little bit sketchy. However, the cafe itself is wonderful. There's free wifi (and it actually works!!), a mix and match juice bar (I ordered pineapple, orange, banana- delicious), and great food options. They have a full day breakfast menu, as well as more lunchy options, with a good selection of dishes for vegetarians. I had the veggie burger, which here is a chickpea and spinach patty (different from the usual "veggie" or spiced bean patties). Yum! I stayed for several hours, so I ended up ordering their house "Naturalis Coffee" as well, which is made with condensed milk, foam, coffee, and sugar. It was pretty sweet, but it was perfect, no extra sugar or anything needed to be added.

Want independently-owned coffee with a conscious? Want a place to find new vegetarian food or a patisserie? Then Naturalis Coffee Shop is worth a stop.
Naturalis Coffee Shop is the latest addition to London's growing coffee scene on the bustling streets of Angel's chapel market. Owned by a young husband and wife team, the coffee shop is independent- priding itself in only serving organic and fair-trade produce- all Vegetarian. Still finding its feet, Naturalis is a cosmopolitan eclectic mix of English, Italian, German Spanish and Ecuadorian influences with a friendly homely atmosphere.
Walking in, you're instantly greeted by the large coffee counter which doubles as a small kitchen and bakery oven. The shop is a mixture of the quirky furniture you'd expect from a traditional tea shop, but with a wooden finish and scattered array of plants tries to give it a natural vibe. The coffee is organic and fair-trade and there are a diverse range of fresh loose leaf teas available.
The food and snacks are all freshly prepared on the day with fresh produce, home-made and vegetarian. There's a diverse range of options available= from a vegetarian breakfast (for only £3.25!) with fresh pastries, to lunch which include soups, quiches, sandwiches and fresh pasta made to order. For the sweet tooth there's a huge range of option which includes traditional options such as cakes, cookies and cupcakes but also seasonal international specialities such as "ciambelle di pasqua-" an Italian Easter favourite.
Food is where Naturalis pulls ahead from traditional coffee shops. And the prices are perhaps ridiculously low compared to other shops and stores on the high-street.
I've found the owners to be a real pleasure to speak with and they're committed to listening to feedback and improving. There are still issues, but most are down to the fact that coffee shop is barely three weeks old! So expect teething issues. Give Naturalis a shot- it's a great neighbourhood addition to Angel. I know I'll be making this my local.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sara S.London, United Kingdom07Jul 6, 2014
A refreshing change from the clogged, queuey atmosphere of your typical brunch spot in London, Naturalis boasts lovely staff, tasty pastries and quick meals, and strong coffee. The meal deal (£5 for a quiche / spanish omelette, a side salad and side wedges) is pretty good value. The cheesecake is tasty, and the vegan alternatives are prominent and varied. The feel of this cafe is way different to the me-too selection of panini and baked potato shops that dominate London side streets, and if you go on a Sunday, you have a mini farmer's market right at the cafe's doorstep! Every time I go back to Naturalis, I remember how much I like it in there.

Great cozy cafe with solid vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options! Also, most of their vegan treats were also gluten-free --very refreshing in a sea of non-allergen friendly shops in Angel. Soy and almond milk for coffees and teas is definitely a plus. Did not have a meal but their baguettes and burgers look yummy so it looks like I'll definitely be back!
