From time to time, I noticed that there was visible debris in the bottom of the pool - probably should be vacuumed but was not. Also the last service noted that the skimmer basket was emptied but when I checked there were 2 small dead frogs in the skimmer basket.

You can depend on Orca Pools. They come weekly and don't skip weeks like some other companies. They do a thorough job and will answer any questions that you might have. Their technicians are well trained and the supervisor visits regularly to ensure that everything is done correctly to keep the pool functioning to its potential.

I do not recommend this company for having your pool resurfaced. They sell themselves well; unfortunately, there's no follow through. When my pool was first resurfaced I mentioned to the owner that the color didn't look right and that I didn't like it. He said to give it time. At the end of 4 weeks, when they were ready to pull out, I said I still didn't like the color, and that the color was splotchy. He tells me that this is because I have well water and that causes problems. The time to have told me that well water could be a problem was BEFORE he started the work, and before he gave me a price. He should have told me that well water can cause issues, and I can choose to bring in water at an additional cost. From what I have been reading, the other choice is that they come out more often to brush the pool and maintain the balance. Yes, they'd charge more, but I might have gotten what I wanted. Instead, I was told that somebody would be there 3 times per week but mostly there was somebody 2 times a week. They knew I might have issues due to my water, and they don't try to get ahead of it?
So, he agrees to resurface the pool. Said they won't let me down. He's been working with somebody for 2 years now, trying to get it right. They resurface the pool. Somebody shows up twice a week. The color looks closer to what I want, but it is inconsistent throughout the pool. I thought I'd give it time and see what happens at the 4 weeks. Except that at TWO weeks, after the worker had come that morning, the owner's wife tells me they're handing the pool back to me. When I ask about the color splotches, she tells me how much it would cost for them to maintain my pool! I go ahead and check my pool that evening. I wanted to know what I was starting with. Well, my pool was NOT balanced - -something that is imperative to have after a pool has been resurfaced. The potassium and the chlorine levels were way off.
I have waited to post this review because I wanted to see if there would be any improvement in how my pool looks. It still has the white thin line that has been there from the beginning. Something was run across that pool bottom before it had been cured, and I can't figure what it would have been since there is only 1 line. The color is inconsistent, swirls of pale color to the right color, and in other places mottling (which I understand is something that can happen.)
Every time I look at my pool, I am so sorry I went with Orcas Pool. I spent a lot of money to be so disappointed at the service we received and what my pool looks like. I look at other very lovely pools, but mine did not turn out that way.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lynn L.San Francisco, CA01Jun 2, 2023

BUYERS BEWARE of Orca Pools. DO NOT use Orca Pools for Pool Resurfacing or Pool Deck Renovations. They made many promises that they did not keep; a 6-8 week project completion estimate took 4 months for initial install and another 7 months to remove staining and get chemicals to a somewhat acceptable level but still today (2 years after start date) there are several unresolved problems. Owner Michelle cursed at us when we refused to pay the final draw when our pool was still green and stained and not chemically balanced; they initially refused to use 100% treated water instead of our 3 parts per million iron well water which caused us to burn up (and replace at our own expense) our pool pump due to having to run the pump 24 hours a day for several months during treatments to remove metals and treat staining on new surface. They left us with gray spots and white spots on a new pool surface that they themselves could not remove and were not able to give us answers as to what they were or how to remove them; they had to redo the surface on our pool steps due to poor workmanship and offered to add extra blue crystals to make them stand out, well they certainly stand out just not pretty but rather like a glaring mistake was made. Not only did we have to pay to replace our pool pump, but also paid out of our pocket for numerous filters and some chemicals during the installation process. When it finally rained after the installation, our new pool deck drain they installed could not handle the water and puddled several inches deep and several foot wide during a moderate rain. Only then did we realize they installed a new drain less than 1 inch deep when we previously had a 3 inch deep drain. They promised to fix the drain and had folks come out but their proposals did not seem most logical so we offered a suggestion that would be less costly and less labor intensive. At that point, they started communicating less and within 2 months had totally stopped communicating with us. They left us with grey and white spots we have been battling for over 12 months, a less than adequate deck drain, a discolored rim on pool light, undesirable grout changed from gray to white on the top of dark colored pool tiles without our permission or approval, and other more trivial items, and much frustration and extreme disappointment. In their reply to our complaint to the BBB, the said we were "aggressive" and they just could not deal with us any more. How immature and unprofessional is that? We did nothing to deserve being abandoned by this company and certainly were not aggressive towards them in any way. Stay clear of Orca Pools, lest you be deceived and disappointed.

Consistently dependable service. Needed to replace fountain heads and that was was completed beautifully. They are not inexpensive. Owner communicates via email all changes in scheduling. The tech noticed a small leak in the "O" ring of the pump. They asked our permission to replace and now its on order. That is what we want -for them to be pro active. We expect them to observe and be on top of things.

Orca is the third pool services provider we've had in our four years in FL, and overall maybe eight providers overall since retired from USAF. In the two years we've been with Orca, I've had some complaints given we have a non-screened pool but they have never failed to address them and always very positively. I don't expect to keep my pool crystal clear all the time, that would be impossible, but I do expect them to respond when I question them and they always do, and allow me (a former water professional engineer) to have a discussion with them; knowing they respect my decissions on the issues.
I totally support them because they have never "blown up" my issues, and they keep our pool looking AWESOME as much as REALISTICALLY POSSIBLE!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Judy B.Leesburg, FL244Jul 6, 2020
Orca Pools have been doing our weekly maintenance for over a year. They consistently show up every week as scheduled and email a detailed description of the chemical levels as well as safe to swim times. Highly recommend this company. Good pool companies are hard to come by.

Techs take job seriously and are very hard working. But while the owner sits in her office, she delivers extremely condescending emails. Making judgement calls without looking at your pool. So knowledgeable about ones pool but the only pool she sees all day is her own when she gets home. Get ready for a ride if you pick this company.
